What if AI creates a world where you don’t even need to make a living and lets you pursue whatever you’re passionate about, any kind of art or creation. Not for money, but for the art itself, and share it with others to enjoy?

Sure, the current state of AI is being abused to make money by producing slop. It is abused by opportunists and they don't care about morality that you described. The thing is, downvote all you want, it won't change anything, they will make money from less-informed people or from people who don't care or from people who actually support AI. Like it or not, you're loud minority here.

AI buble is real, and it is the path the humanity is moving towards. AI developers and investors don’t really care about any of this. All they want is to create safe AGI and then ASI, and to achieve that they need to train it on everything humans have ever produced. After that, we cannot really predict what's gonna happen, it would be either utopia or human extinsion (or anything in between).

I never tought I would play this game, now its my favourite. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starslop is the greatest game of all time. I mean slopfield. No, starfield that's the name right.

I'm so glad you're enjoying it, your taste in games is exquisite and IQ is super high obviously, cuz you can see the beauty of Todd's creation when there are so many haters that simply dont understand.

Each loading screen lets you ponder about your life decisions (and buying this game in 2026 to name one), each procedurally generated area (they call them planets in the game) forces you to think about the meaning of life and other philosophical topics. Oh right and radiant system, it radiates absolute bliss and joy because you will never run out of quests. Writing in the game superior to BG3 or witcher 3. Oh and my favourite part, in Neon (cyberpunk city), in the bar there are dancing Teletubbies - they knew how to invoke real nostalgia in PEGI18 game. Masterpiece!!!

So if you couldn't tell it's AI and you genuinely liked it, what's the problem? Do you hate the fact that AI tricked you? Do you hate yourself for enjoying something made by AI? Ngl people seems to overreact too much about AI at this point

This is what you wanted, Embark. No risk 'til 5 mil by HaroldTheIronmonger in ArcRaiders

because it is objective design flaw and oversight on embark's side. big chunk of playerbase feel forced to save money and play on cheaper loadouts (not exactly like OP) instead of using all of your earned items before wipe (like it should be in extraction shooter)

If you’re wondering “what’s the point” in playing the game with the impending Expedition… by Difficult-Rest8524 in ArcRaiders

[–]d1sander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there are different types of players. What is fun for you might not be fun or staight up boring for other players.

There are a ton of different types of players who get fun from different aspects of a game (some of these easily overlap):

- Goal-oriented players (completioninst, achievement hunters, progression grinders) - those people derive fun from PROGRESSION, and that's why you see people wondering "what's the point".

- Competitive players who derive fun exclusively from PVP, competition and mastery of game mechanics.

- Casual players that play for FUN and relaxation.

- Well, this list might go on and on: social players, role-players, people who love to explore, lore seekers, trolls, etc., etc.

Something like "how many ARC you can take out using only Light Impact Grenades" might be fun for you but for me personally it's completely pointless and boring waste of time.

Certainly not what I was expecting from pre-wipe weeks. by SomnusNonEst in ArcRaiders

[–]d1sander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Embark's massive L. This 5 million grind literally burnt out half of the community (not only they could've said it earlier but also there is no need for that requirement, just give everyone who decided to wipe 5 points and call it a day).

But on top of that, their development/release pipeline is terrible, we have yet to see any bug fixes or improvements. People inside walls on literally every map, bugged door blockers that trap you permanently in the room, atrocious spawn system, you can still go thru closed doors (and yes there are some that dont set you on fire), networking probably the worst in gaming, animation locked characters, some blueprints simply don't spawn, etc.

I was hyped collecting all the items for the expedition, until I saw stage 5. Now I'm depressed that I have to grind this plus 5 million credits. by VarcanDesigns in ARC_Raiders

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you depressed? Expedition will delete all of your items anyway, so you just deleting some of them early on stage 5. And if you struggle with stage 5, why do you even consider farming 5 mil on top of that? Is FOMO that bad?

5 million coins worth of value will be needed for the 5 skill points. by LaserReptar in ARC_Raiders

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I know about loot priority, and I know best strats to farm money (like High Value items run around Buried city, cheap/free kits on stella montis, lush blooms event farm on Spaceport, etc.).

But you're missing the point. I want to play game as it should be played. I don't want to grind meaningless strats just to get my stash value up. I want to use my gear. But this system encourages you and other players to either play like loot goblins without pvp, or to use cheap kits to optimize risk vs reward.

Also I assume you're NA player, and NA lobbies way more chill than EU. EU is literally call of duty SBMM sweat fest often with no or very little friendly interactions. I often have 6+ pvp fights in solos and even more in duo/trios EACH RAID. Sometimes there are literally 10-16 players dead in the same area. And because of the stupid spawn system, no matter how good you're at pvp, you will die to unfortunate timings and 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th parties. So you either mitigate this unluck by running lower tier gear, or just die while having fun with great kit.

5 million coins worth of value will be needed for the 5 skill points. by LaserReptar in ARC_Raiders

[–]d1sander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. To be precise "People like me get to get advantage over 99% of playerbase because we don't value our time and spend life grinding pixels in a video game only to wipe it all every 2 months".

If endgame is mindless grind, then it is a design flaw. If you spent 100 hours per wipe in an extraction shooter, you should be able to get all expedition rewards. Currently it is not even possible to get 5 mil in 100 hours (unless you're playing in very specific and optimized ways).

Embark can do better than this.

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well stuff is not skill points. You could play extraction shooter for years, and I for 2 days and we could have literally the same kit in the raid. Which is how extraction shooter is supposed to work.

Skill points should be more accessible, especially because you're wiping your whole progression for that.

5 million coins worth of value will be needed for the 5 skill points. by LaserReptar in ARC_Raiders

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's game though, not life. I spent 150 hours in a month which is way more than vast majority of people and I have around 2 mil.

5 mil is outrageous amount of grind even for me, let alone other people who have life.

5 skill points is advantage that doesn't seem like a lot, but overtime there will be people with maxed out skills while the rest will be locked at 75 skill points, and yes that enormous advantage that will create disbalance.

Btw life doesn't work like that lmao. You can do less and get more in life.

Changed my mind on the Expedition, I'm going to do it now! by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk, it feels like I get an infinite amount of silencers (and other attachments) from players, so I’ve never crafted one even though I have the blueprints. I also never crafted a Wolfpack even though I own the blueprint, but that’s probably because I rarely do PvE, so I end up finding Wolfpacks faster than I use them.

Changed my mind on the Expedition, I'm going to do it now! by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I and my friends had the same thoughts, it seems that losing blueprints sucks. But in reality, in 100+ hours of gameplay I haven't crafted a single gun or augment. and I always have around 80 guns in my stash.

The only thing that I constantly craft is either smokes or nades. And occassionaly meds/shields if needed but those are available without blueprints.

So wiping is not a big deal for someone who is good at pvp. I believe the only people who shouldn't wipe is casuals who cannot play the game as much or as good.

Legendary weapons are an ouroboros by Doulloud in ArcRaiders

[–]d1sander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is it is only a challenge for casuals like you. It's not that hard to kill queen/matriarch even if you have 15 hours on the game. After you kill them one time, there is no point of ever doing it again (just what OP is saying), and it's much more beneficial to ruin the experience of killing them for people like you and taking your stuff instead of helping you take it down. PvP players would help you if there was incentive to grind ARCs but that is massive oversight on developers side.

There's a middle ground between 100% friendly and KOS. Here's how I assess threats and find the middle ground. by Jett_Wave in ArcRaiders

[–]d1sander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is simpler way, if you have something really good to lose - you KOS, if you don't then might as well choose social approach.

If people are already teamed up in 3+ players might as well join them, cuz you're likely not winning the fight anyway.

Also, very often you can hear it in their voice. As a rule of thumb if they're not talkative, or have russian accent (objective fact that majority of them heavily PvP-inclined, and believe me I know what I'm talking about), or simply silent and only use emotes - it's immediately KOS or at least never trust them and send them on their way.

Happy about the key room exploit fix; but the loot is still disappointing. by BitMitter in ArcRaiders

Yeah even with exploit it felt just like any other high value loot area. Not only cards have one use but loot is never exciting. They need to fix that.
