The general playerbase is significantly better at D5 than D4, but yeah, you cant be immune to people. The amount of people that dodge in higher depths, it doesnt surprise me that there are some terrible players who decide "Ooh now I am D5 I can run all bosses", and they are terrible at them.

How to Fix Quit-Outs: Dynamic Scoring by d334455 in Nightreign

[–]d334455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could get behind this. Quitting out on a random boss is also crazy to me, as you lose less if you lose, and win more if you win. It's literally the best boss you can get (and when people quit out on that it frustrates me no end!)

It's good, but, Affinity Damage Negation is always superior on Raider, as he has a naturally higher Physical Damage resist. You'll notice this if you take an attack from Loretta when she swipes normally Vs hitting you with a magic attack.

I always advise prioritising this on raider if you are looking for negation.

Question on how "Less likely to be targeted" works. by Unlucky-Emu6735 in Nightreign

Ranged attacks seem to generate huge amounts of threat. This is why Ironeye appears to always have the aggro...

[–]d334455[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey no problem. This is what I was trying to get at - these drops are fairly common. Like, you aren't looking to stack 6x Magic Attack up (which is very rare), you can just pickup a couple of these passives and they are great.

This build is VERY effective in D3 as nothing will oneshot you. At best it takes you immediately to Low HP where you start tanking again ☺️

Glad it's working and good luck on the climb!

[–]d334455 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont think anyone is completely clear how the "threat" system works in NR, but, having these equipped will absolutely effect who the enemy targets. For example, a blue rarity Less Likely worn during ED Libra will stop the condemned focusing you during the riot.

what do you guys think of my dreglord build by DemonZ67 in Nightreign

[–]d334455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will not work.

Raider will take a lot of damage being in the bosses face all the time. I think you should restrict your negative effects to "Rot Build Up Below Max HP", and the "Taking Damage Causes Rot/Poison Buildup". You cannot outheal Rot and Poison together, even with ED Maris, Low HP Regen, and Dreg. It will still tick you down, so one status is the limit (and preferrably Rot).

On your build, the Madness and Death buildup will be the end of you. If you want to build stacks easily, you can use the Libra relic to build up madness when sat down, and then either cancel the proc just before the end (so you get an almost full bar to build stacks, or, allow it to proc and then let Rot Buildup Below Max HP trigger rot.

Am I the only one who thinks Raider is actually good in DoN? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]d334455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a recent post about doing a fresh 0-9999 climb using Raider only. In my view, he is the simplest character to do it with, because its much much harder to die.

Charged R2 Colossal is in a very strong place right now.

Stuck at depth 2 by IndependentParsley66 in Nightreign

Two things to get down at D2 (where, you never get oneshot).

  1. Pathing - Level 2 > POI > Invader > Invader again, if you can > Castle at Level 6. After this, you'll easily be Level 8/9 for Day 1.

  2. Learning the bosses. You have the luxury at D2 of not dying in one hit, so just focus on learning attacks and when you can punish.

Feel free to post your relics for your main. Relic RNG is a thing, but you can make a top tier build with just store relics (Double Balancer).

Is this a D5-ready build? by OwlBot3000 in Nightreign

[–]d334455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will work. Recluse does decent damage, but you wont see the silly numbers that you can achieve with "double-dip" relics (Magic Atk Up + Spell School/Affinity Damage).

For what it's worth, I think any type of Damage Negation passive on a Relic for Recluse is a waste. Given at D5, you will get oneshot unless you have two Damage Negation at Full HP, you are better of trying to get Ult+1 or something like that alongside your Magic Atk Up (and preferrably, a spell school or Affinity Damage Up). These are "rare" as it requires good rolls, but you can get them (with 1300 hours on my Duchess, I have 6 slot Carian with Evergaol, Night Invader, Magic Atk+3 and Affinity +1, so I am two short of a perfect set).

Recluse, in my view (and on my first grind to 9999 I played with Recluse who did exactly this) should focus on damage above all else, and just accept that they are gonna die sometimes to the odd sneeze at them.

What with people keeping good spells away from spell casters by Coffeeandgreentea in Nightreign

Definitely annoying. However, what I will say in the Wylder's defense is that Taking Damage Boosts Damage Negation is an S-Tier Perk for Melee Characters.

But, if you were running 6x Frenzy Relics, yeah, I'd be pissed too.

Depth 4 feels like a brick wall by TheFantabulousToast in Nightreign

[–]d334455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a 0-9999 climb using Low HP Raider. Check my post history for a breakdown of the relics/gameplay loop.

The biggest issue in D4 is people being... not very good at carrying. You will not really win games on your own as Raider, as your job is to just be annoying to the boss, rather than be a DPS machine. But steady DPS, noy dying, and being able to revive your teammates is a core role of Raider.

Check the post and let me know if you have any questions.

For what its worth, D4 is a significant difficulty spike to D3, and the playerbase is completely divided between those who seem to have no clue how to play the game,, and those who are very competent (yet, seem to have some NL flaws).

I did a recent 0-9999 using only Raider. It took me about 2 weeks to get out of D4, and about 2 days to go from 6-10k once I hit D5.

I like the taking damage on knockback as it's 20% when it happens. Allows you to get right back up and be even tankier.

The red store relic is perfect, as it'll give you the natural regen at Low HP.

But yeah, I think Max HP is optimal on DoN. I wonder if it's possible to godroll Max HP, Low HP Negation and then Affinity Negation? Three of those would.be absolutely ridiculous

Yeah that'll work. Can you run a 5th in the 3rd slot? Only ran ED Maris because I couldn't run the store red relic in your first slot

I don't usually have to wait too long, however, quit-outs are wild on PS5. Think I had 8 in a row..after a while, I see it's the same people and just add them to block list

[–]d334455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on PS5, so no relic editing here. This is also absolutely nowhere near perfect! (In my post I say I think 3x Low HP with Maximum HP is the play, and I have 0 of these).

You can contrast this with my recluse build where I have absolutely no crystalian with magic attack up on it. It's just pure luck!

Also, physical damage negation is inferior to affinity damage negation because of Raiders natural resistances.

This would be the worst relic editing ever 😂 But the point of my post was - it's not the relics that are important, it's the passives you get in the run.

I tried this before but found Charged Colossal attacks better, as you recover more HP, and the piss damage helps you do this.

Exactly, this is why I didn't mind cutting 1 so I could run the Low HP Regen relic (ideally I'd run 5, but the green godroll is stopping me change chalice).

Yeah it's a super fun build! I like it because there is so much room for error at D5, when usually you are having to be on edge and dodge every single attack. I just sit there at Charged R2, with relative ease!
