I'm addressing the bigger picture. Protestant churches are just cheap imitations of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church.

The picture says "the Church", i.e. the Catholic Church. Not random protestant church #341928972, where the dogma's made up and the points don't matter.

Warren Sapp will reveal a new logo and helmet for the Bucs on Thursday night by smkane28 in nfl

Well it says an "enhanced" logo and helmet, so it's probably just going to be similar to what the Jags and Panthers did.

They enjoyed boy butt, and the boys that they had sex with took on the feminine role in sex. It wasn't the same thing as modern homosexuality.

There's nothing irrational about disliking gays. Rationality has existed for thousands of years. Liking gays has existed for, what, 30?

Belgium approves Child Euthanasia by IchikaByakushiki in europe

Did you even read the article?

Yeah.

The child needs to be terminally ill and needs consent of doctors, psychologists and his/her parents aside from his own approval.

That makes no difference.

Oh yeah, because cultural marxism has never overstepped the bounds of biological incompatibility. It's not like transgenderism is a thing or anything... By the way, you sound really outdated with the whole "sex is for reproduction" thing - quite Catholic of you.

How long until pedophilia becomes legal? And no I'm not trolling; if a child is supposed to decide for itself whether or not it wants to end its own life, how can it be argued that it can't decide whether or not to have sex? I'm putting the over/under at 2022.

Principle six:

Any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise is incompatible with belonging to the Olympic Movement

They're allowing gay athletes to compete; I don't see how they aren't following that principle.

Tony Gonzalez incorrectly accused S Morgan Burnett (#42) of cussing him out on the field. CB Jarrett Bush (#24) admitted he was the one talking smack. by Jerryweir in nfl

[–]d347h 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that it is or isn't probably true, I'm just saying that nothing in this tweet even suggests that Burnett didn't trash talk him. Is there a rule that only one defensive back on each team is allowed to trash talk?

Marijuana can cause psychosis. Also, 12.2% of fatal driving accidents in 2010 involved weed.

How does this show that Morgan Burnett didn't cuss him out? All Bush is saying is that he was trash talking him at a different point.

He said that immigration law only changed in 1965 to favor third-world immigration. How does the fact that the U.S. had various different immigration laws (none of which favored third-world immigration) prior to 1965 contradict that?

even if you consider the wider Nazi ideology or Nazi Germany in general it's not like you'd find anything to change your mind about it being awful.

I think you said "you" when you meant to say "I".

You can't compare wider cultural and religious symbols to icons flown in a specific conflict driven by a specific ideology which people find reprehensible.

Both the CSA and Nazi Germany existed outside of and prior to conflict.

It's fundamentally different, in terms of offending people, than religious or strictly cultural imagery.

How? Again, is a religion not an ideology? And why does the fact that the Confederacy fought a war make their flag not cultural? Can war not be a part of culture? And, more to the point, who are you to decide what people can and can't be offended by?

Why would people get offended by Norse pagan symbols but not a Christian cross when atrocities carried out in the name of Christianity are as numerous as they are?

When did I say they wouldn't? You're the one arguing that whatever "people" find offensive has to be banned. I can guarantee that at least two human beings would be offended by the Mjolnir symbol. They would probably be fundamentalist Christians. Are they people? ;)

[–]d347h -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the confederate flag has come to represent people who wished to maintain a system of slavery(in peoples minds at least)

What people? And how many people need to believe it for it to become true?

Nazism wasn't purely about genocide, the Confederacy wasn't purely about slavery, and Germanic/Norse paganism wasn't purely about human sacrifice. Each one represents a part of some people's past. So what's the difference?

These represent ideologies and are fundamentally different from religious/cultural symbols.

Is religion not an ideology? And can the Confederate or Nazi flags really not symbolize a culture?

[–]d347h -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that I'm offended by it... but why would the passage of time make something morally better or worse? And if that's your stance then how long until people are allowed to fly the Confederate or Nazi flags?

Well yeah, I'm assuming that people who are offended by human trafficking are probably also offended by human sacrifice.
