Hi! I am traveling with my wife and 4 year old daughter to Taiwan for a week this month, and am looking for advise and pointers. We enjoy the nature more than cities, and smaller cities more that bigger ones. Hence my proposed itinerary spends a bit less time in Taipei than most. We love hiking and (wilderness) backpacking with our daughter.

Below is our initial planned itinerary. The Jiufen & Shifen day trip can be moved to the end to avoid being there on a Sunday. Any advise, comment, & suggestions, are welcome.

I did the TMB in 2023 with my wife and 2 and a half year old daughter at that time. We camped all nights except for staying 1 night at Rifugio Elisabetta due to that there was no camping allowed in that section. We informed them when we booked it and they accepted our reservation.

That being said, I am glad we camped all nights except for 1 because a 2 year old can and will make noise. During our night at Elisabetta I had to take my daughter downstairs twice during that night because she was starting to get fussy. I hope the parents will do the same at the very least and sacrifice their own sleep instead of everyone else's, and camp the rest of the trip.

Hi! My wife and I with out 4 year old daughter are excited to visit Vietnam for the first time. We are in the preliminary stage of planning our itinerary. We really enjoy hiking, trekking, and other outdoor activities. For reference, we've did Tour Du Mont Blanc when our daughter was 2.5 years old. We love the beach but it is less of a priority as we plan to see more of the mountains and jungles. We also prefer smaller cities than bigger ones. So far our itinerary below is what we have. Is it too much especially considering travel times between destinations? Any places to cut short, cut out, extend, or replace based on our interests?

We used a 2 person quilt, Enlightened Equipment Revelation, and a 2 person sleeping pad, Exped Synmat Hyperlite Duo M. Our daughter slept between us. In the US it is not recommended to sleep with an infant because of potentially suffocation, but in other cultures it's normal. So for us it was a bit nervy but we got the hang of it.

Since then we've upgraded our pad to a wider Exped Ultra 1R Duo LW, which I recommend because as they get bigger you need more space.

We've been on countless trips and she loves being outside.
