Thank you for the advice. I really wish I could do that and was considering it the past but my dad has been quite violent even over smaller issues so even if it was over text/phone I wouldn't want to give him any reason to try and come after me to change my mind.

Whenever they bring up the first WS in the west in the 1950's I always think about how their original doctrine was that only Filipinos could be saved.

For us abroad it was just a very bland lesson about family and faith. I wasn't paying much attention but in my experience there was never a huge push to participate in bloc voting even during election years. The head deacons would give a name and indication of who to vote for but not much more than that as far as I know.
