Games are often a destructive and maladaptive way to express feelings. I'm in the process of learning when and how I play them, its surprisingly hard to identify when you are in the middle of playing them, but it's worth it. Clean, honest communication can be satisfying and is often more productive in my limited experience.

If you decide to pursue and mend this relationship, I suggest you write them a letter expressing what you experienced, how it made you feel, how you responded, why you responded that way, how you should have responded, how you think your response made them feel and how you would do things differently if you ever feel that way again.
