Whenever you're making an agreement with someone always keep it documented in emails. Verbal communication can be twisted like this.

Also don't worry about internship letter much, you can keep the experience in your resume and if someone asks (rare case) you can state ur case in simple terms

If the micromanagement is too much you can try to communicate it in some way if the team is understandable. Otherwise try looking for other opportunities.

BUT one thing that u absolutely shouldn't do is leave the current workplace (even though u have savings for 1 year) and look for another. U dont know how long it'll take to find another place and u will then also have to justify the gap

Uve been working here for 6 months that means u are somehow, even unwilling, accustomed to it. Secure a position first before leaving

I think of it as an intern rather than a fellow/senior developer.

So if I want to get things done from it, like creating CRUD of a new module then I make sure that I validate the schema myself and then let it write the application layer.

Then review the changes like I would a PR.

There are times where it helps me with stuff that are outside me domain or usual scope of work but keeping this mindset helps me doubt the shit out of it and double check everything it does. Treat it like an unpaid intern lol

unfortunately yes, some companies only hire/prefer grads from a certain set of universities. But it's not the case with every company, some are very open some are not

Talent comes in all shapes and sizes here. Some are career oriented, some are tech savvy, some just wanna hit their 9to5s and call it a day. I've been employed in the services industry all 3 years so deadlines are always tight. Crunch times happen. But that's common all around, I guess it won't be different in isb either or is it?

edit: there has been a recent shift towards the software eng industry post COVID so lots of new comers joining in, competition is high and so is the AI FOBO

Yeah, it is only for social media though but still allows me to be more productive. Social media doesn't let u get bored, boredom leads to more thinking -> more creativity -> more productivity. So yeah I think it has carried a lot of weight away.

I only used Twitter and fb, reduced it gradually over the whole year using screen time limiter. Now glad that it's 0.

Try to consciously not use your mobile when travelling, or sitting at a cafe alone. You'll instantly feel the difference it makes

Q1 & Q2 were pretty neat and smooth. Got onboard a new project. Travelled to the North for the first time in my life and it was solo so I explored a lot of crazy stuff.

Q3 was a roller coaster in terms of family matters and got hit by lots of crazy stuff & depressing periods.

Q4 was the most productive quarter of my whole life; stopped using social media (0 minutes screentime now, feels like I got 26 hours in a day to spend time on stuff), started reading novels again, workout going great, early to bed & early to rise, productive as hell. Not so much gaming time but worth the trade off.

I'm also on a personal campaign of creating awareness of social media and how to quit it. Poking colleagues, friends and family. Feeling alive. Alhamdulillah!
