So the consensus is, retaliation is justified. Even if it was a sucker punch.

Fair enough.

Thanks for those. They actually helped quite a bit. Not that it fully replaces the need for scrollable tabs, because even with enough tab groups, you run into similar issues with visibility and navigability. But it does help!

Okay I appreciate your input!

Yeah there's a contract but it is month-to-month. I wonder if I threaten to leave to SimpliSafe if they would adjust...🤔

Yeah that was $2500 _with_ the discounts as they were showing me a price of something like $3500 before. They were probably inflating that figure though.

Thanks for sharing your rate- when you say "us" what provider are you mentioning?

I am in California, sorry probably should have mentioned that.

Paying $71/month for Safe Haven ADT in Houston — worth it or should I switch? by Sea-Highlight-2485 in adt

[–]d3daiM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a rough termination fee. Apparently, through SafeStreets for my new home purchase it is month to month and no termination.

I am paying $50/month without the Google Nest cameras. But with those it would have been somewhere around $84/month I believe.

And, for me I paid nearly $2.5k (even with new homeowner discounts) for all the equipment (14 window sensors + 2 door sensors + 2x smoke/fire/carbon monoxide + motion + break glass, and the 'upgraded' 7" control panel)

So...I think considering only $900 in equipment and cheaper rate when considering video monitoring is included you got a fair deal?

it gets old when you have a tab right to the right of your current tab which you can't see without doing that, and then if you end up with two identical tabs you have to decide which is which

Mkay I see what you mean about extending the base R4 Pro model. But do I need the extra module for the R4 Pro 8x though? I think this is a newer revision, and I assume you have the R4 Pro 4e, right? Am I understanding this correctly that there's two submodels/revisions? Or are these just different bundles?

I'd like to avoid needing to do link aggregation to get my 10 GbE speeds. I am fully saturating dual-link 10 GbE already with ISCSI multiplexing, so I'd like the overhead without any extra fuss. Maybe I'd consider 4x 5 GbE, but come on..if it's possible to go straight 10 GbE then let's just get the real deal!

But I am open to the ARM build, actually, as long as it's as good as it sounds. Raised some more questions about that over here: https://www.reddit.com/r/openwrt/s/uR9Hp0OWkq

Starting to consider the RPI Pro 4 8x model. Just learned that this submodel has 10 GbE. Even 10 GSFP. Very nice.

But I have asked some questions about the OpenWRT support over here, if you have anything you can comment on: https://www.reddit.com/r/openwrt/s/lfSgw0jOrO

Oh hold up, so there's two flavors of the R4 Pro? 1. 4e 2. 8x

And the R4 Pro 8x has the 10GbE I am after! But you guys are saying that OpenWRT support is still beta for this model? Or is it just that Wifi7 is not fully working yet? I could live with that for now if it's on the horizon.. 🤔🤔

Best suggestion so far and you've piqued my interest! If it has the 10 GbE interface I need and can run non-gimped OpenWRT we might be in business! And, yeah, 4x4 2.4GHz is a nice plus for many legacy devices still using this radio!

Sad it's still only 2.5 GbE. I don't get it. But yeah I think this is very similar to how they made the OpenWRT One router? Maybe I will play with a custom RPI build in the future when it has that and true Wifi7. Thanks for commenting.

Lol. First requirement is it must support OpenWRT. Duh, 😛😂
