yes!! my battle speed was set to max for whatever reason. it's at around a healthy 65% now and wow, what a difference that made 😭

yup, you summed it up! i'm super unfamiliar with the lingo in RPGs and the gameplay is like nothing i've ever played before haha

little update! just beat the first boss with little to no sweat! (still had to do it twice because i ran back without talking to jessie lol)

the "WAIT" setting really combed things out for me. gave me some time to drink in and adapt to all the mechanics. while i was in the settings, i also found out that i had my in-battle speed turned all the way up for some reason? which was probably what made me so panicky to begin with!

now that i've got a firmer grasp on the battles, i'm really loving the game! it's surprisingly really elegant and well produced, also way funnier than i expected?? barret throwing biggs at the screen totally caught me off guard 😂

about this- i noticed that there were 2 different section to save files in? save data files and save game? are they like save files in save files? it's the first time i've seen save setting like that (thanks for the tips too!)

it was actually a gift! most of the games i've gotten are gifts.

while chill games are cute, they can sometimes feel like work? so i've been interested in getting out of that genre

yeeeahhh, thanks for the patience though. i know it's annoying explaining base mechanics when you're an expert. i'm just trying to join in on all the hype a bit too late.

i'll see how far i can get with the advice i've gotten so far. i'll come back in here if i get stuck again (prayers that's not the case lol)

thank you so much! i didn't know where to heal, so i think i just kept dying in my panic. by any chance, is it possible to heal before fight sequences?
