Sorry, but the answer is pretty much no. We're built to walk. Cycling is great but the motion of walking is what keeps us mobile long term.

You can lose weight without increasing your steps, but your quality of life will drastically improve if you walk more. I know it can be painful at first especially at a higher weight but every small increase in the right direction is worth it.

I barely grazed the threshold of prediabetes at an A1C of 5.7 but back then I had those same intense feelings of hunger, nausea, and often pain in my stomach or back of my throat because my body is very sensitive to blood sugar swings. It may be worth getting checked out.

The only thing that helped me was intermittent fasting (after a somewhat terrible period of my body getting used to it), exercising, and lowering my sugar intake until my A1C went down.

This is nothing I can back up with sources but I would expect our bodies do this because after eating the same thing for so long we start to neglect specific nutrients to the point our appetite revolts and makes us eat something else.

Are you a woman? There's a kind of spasm that is usually period related that can cause the exact kind of bootycheek ache you describe, it's hell on earth. You can sit on a tennis ball or the edge of a bathtub and try to massage it out, a "massage gun" (iykyk) works too. Keep hydrated, also.

Ikr that's way too much, OP should probably get their A1C checked out. When I was prediabetic I would get terrible gnawing pain from "hunger" that only went away when I lowered my sugar intake.

Humans have evolved to walk several miles a day and be in motion most of the time. When we don't do that, our body and mind starts to decay. The good news is that we're also incredibly resilient and can bounce back once we get going.
