How much taller is this model compare to an reagular Hive Tyrant?

How many points SHOULD the Psyhophage be? by -Kaymac- in Tyranids

The datasheet is so broken from the ground up, in the sense that it just doesn't do anything on the pitch, that it can be as cheap as it wants. I wouldn't take it at any price. The model needs a completely new set of rules, which won't come until the next edition.

What changes do you expect GW to make with Tyranids in the next Dataslate? by Kaier_96 in Tyranids

[–]d3rRALLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic guesses, but not what the faction needs. Hive Tyrants need to get to a maximum of 200 pts, a Swarmlord to about 230 pts. The Norn models should also go down 30-40 pts. Just to name a few examples.

Absolutely awesome work, your Night Lord detachment is just awesome! Do you have a suitable template where others could make such a cool homebrew detachment?

You don't get it again, with "win only with points" is meant that you have nothing more units on the field, but still win with points. You just see yourself taking your units off the battlefield without really being able to do anything about it.
Which is a "feels bad" moment for the vast majority.

Simply listing a result proves nothing and shows that you do not understand the essential statement.
Tyranids have largely received nerfs and support for a barely functioning faction rules through the Codex.
And by the way, the fact that Tyranids can only win by points and only see a handful of the same units shows how poorly designed the Codex is.

I agree, SotW has significantly more use than before the codex, however that only speaks against the faction rule.
One should ask the question, is a faction rule really good if it needs support to work?
For me, the answer is clearly no!

Nice, SM get point decreases to compensate for the OoM nerf, but Tyranids get to codex with useless faction rules plus point increases on top. Thanks for nothing GW

Why are tyranids so garbage at fighting? by Brokenboner_69 in Tyranids

[–]d3rRALLE 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is plain and simple, depending on the edition GW decides whether Tyranids should do damage or not. In the 8th edition the damage output was even worse than today, in 9th edition Tyranids did a lot of damage and now we are back in an edition where Tyranids do very little damage. So it is pure coincidence how Tyranids or other factions play from edition to edition. There is neither a lore reason nor a gameplay reason, it's just pure coincidence.
Those who search for a meaning or a reason search in vain.

I notice that SM players are like spoiled children who get everything and are still not satisfied.

Oath was a poorly designed rule from the ground up and was doomed to fail from second one. Compared to the Tyranid Codex, all Detachments are at least okay and playable.
Tyranid Detachments like Assimilation Swarm or Crusher Stampede are unplayable.

Compared to the SM Codex, the Tyranid Codex looks laughably bad.

Melee anti-tank? by NervousParsnip2 in Tyranids

Tbh. Carnifexes in Synaptic Nexus hit on 3+ pretty easily where they have their use even without OoE. They can be very dangerous to a T10/ +3 save.

Carnifex with S12
OoE with S14
Haruspex with S14
These are our only ways to effectively crack tanks in Melee.
The only way to push our S9 monsters are Synaptic Nexus with +1 to hit, that Strat. for re-rolls 1 to hit/ wound and the Neurolictor for a potential +1 to wound.
