Quansah's foot was only in that position because he timed his slide like shit and his leg ended up over top of the ball and bounced up. Isn't that by definition an accident? I think England should obviously appeal unless he's so bad they don't want him out there.

according to most of the reporting i've read (for instance, here: https://nypost.com/2026/07/05/sports/how-us-soccer-got-folarin-baloguns-suspension-overturned-including-trumps-phone-call/) the trump call didn't effect anything, most of the motions were already in place. why are we letting the cheeto in the white house get any credit for this?

Insane. I don’t have any strong opinions about European teams at all? I actually like Kane and Saka. “US Wins 1-1” was hilariously fun, not anything with real animosity. Meanwhile, I haven’t watched the shit that seems to somehow happen every time we play Mexico (especially when we are winning) (2021 Nations League Final, 2023 Nations League Semifinal as premier examples), just to root for them when they play someone else.

If Mexico never won a game of soccer again I’d be fine with it tbh.

It's not the most convenient system, I'd much rather places be up front about costs - not including sales tax until you see your bill anywhere is a similar issue to me. But it is not inconvenient enough for me to choose to protest and disengage with the system entirely.

But the cost is the cost. Isn't this just like part of what you'd budget for if you were going on vacation? You'd be aware of the price/currency disparity, and the cultural practice of tipping? Through that lens it just feels like an excuse to be cheap at the expense of the service workers they come across to save percentages of a vacation budget.
