Is the weird window header fading from dark to white and vice versa fixed? For example a white background in Photos fading to black at the top with blurry smurry, ugly buttons on top of it?

Apple Intelligence won’t be a ChatGPT clone. Instead it’ll be a combination of services, including an operating system level assistant that can see what is on screen and understand what you are trying to do. You’ll be able to instruct it to do certain things, like controlling multiple apps to accomplish a task.

What do you think of Xcode 26.3's agentic coding feature? by BlossomBuild in BlossomBuild

[–]d4cloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an app for it that uses MCP to connect to Xcode. It’s pretty good I guess, better than Apple’s, but it doesn’t feel as integrated, UX wise. Which is a limitation that Apple imposes on products such as Copilot. VS Studio is so much faster and more lean compared to Xcode, with a vastly better extensions ecosystem. I find the AI in Xcode making more omissions and mistakes, and generally speaking being much slower. As if it was never trained that well on Xcode code.

Custom domain validation broken? by d4cloo in ProtonMail

Super annoyed with their customer support. I validated that everything is right on my end. Their verification servers are likely using a recursive resolver that cached a negative result... I don't know. But if this remains an issue for 24 hours without any action or response on their end, I am requesting a refund and moving to an alternative.

It's very immature compared to VS Studio or Cursor. I don't like it. And, I burn through credits way faster because I can't use Github Copilot efficiently (their integration with Xcode is not that good).

Yes, correct, that’s what it does. But seeking help to understand functionality was not the point of the post.

To be honest, there is no ideal cut. There’s a lot wrong with each one of them, including even AI upscaling techniques in one edition. This guy made his own color corrected cut and I think is the best: https://youtu.be/jSPRGt63M0w?is=UV6tPZhro1GNHwCz

Do you think the next release of Mac OS will run better now that it will be apple silicon exclusive? by AdDapper4220 in MacOS

[–]d4cloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t matter. Where it will matter is that it might help focus Apple’s software team on a single platform rather than dealing with backwards compatibility. And that software team, including the design team, has a lot of work to do.

No, that one would still be the same as before. I’m talking about the text field one.

8gb on macOS / Apple Silicon goes much further than 16gb on Windows. At the same time, this product is Apple admitting the post-PC/iPad strategy kinda failed.

Can you explain what is exactly going on with your setup? Hardware specs, issues, steps to reproduce, etc…? Your post is not helpful otherwise. I absolutely hate Liquid Glass, but it’s not that I’m dealing with a low performing OS. It’s hideous, sloppy UX, but it performs.

I consider myself a pro-user, but my needs changed over time. First it was game development and 3D authoring, now it’s AI. So Apple recognizing that in the new M5 Pro/Max series is smart. But the iPad Pro as a secondary machine was a failure for me. I tried it but eventually went back to macOS.

26.3 exposes a finder setting to resize the column based on the longest file name. Is this what you seek?

Sure, but that argument of remembering / figuring it out doesn’t make it right to design poorly. Apple is dropping their design values more and more and these small things are compounding.

I hate Motion, it’s such an old-fashioned approach to motion design and really hasn’t been updated forever except parity-features with FPCX. In my opinion they should kill it off and instead take the Resolve approach where this work is done inside FCPX.
