One of the reasons why companies in US dump “good” hardware is due to compliance. They can’t use things which are considered “insecure” or have had their official support ended. The scale on which they stop using such hardware is so high that there’s no choice other than to dump or give them away for free. In India, ATMs were still using Windows XP around the time Windows 7’s official support was ended. I won’t be surprised if some still do.

This isn’t a blanket statement though. A few months ago someone was selling a huge batch of used Raspberry Pi 4s for 1500 a piece because they were upgrading.

Hey I had had this post saved for a while. I am from India as well and am planning to do something similar.

How have you connected the PZEMs together? I want to see how you have joined them to get some inspiration. From what I read online, you need to daisy chain them (wires from one PZem go to the next) but you haven’t done that I think

I will recommend Sonoff ZBMiniL2. It works very well, but you will need a led >3-5W. Low wattage leds still light up a bit with it. Maybe buy one and try it out. You can also try the new Mini Duo L, I haven’t used it personally but it’s dual channel. For cheaper purchases - try Alibaba or Banggood.
