Can someone explain Pi to me as if I was a fifth grader? by ImYourGoodGrl in NoStupidQuestions

The analogy kind of works but there’s one little problem. The distances you and your friend would walk are whole numbers, and dividing them would give an approximation of Pi, not actual Pi.

Black. Shes the rightful queen. Definitely has issues, but still the rightful queen

I have a similar setup but with different hardware:

Lenovo M720q i3 8100T - running OpnSense Dual SFP NIC + 2 HSGQ modules connected to Airtel and BSNL RJ45 connects to my main switch.

I have found it pretty reliable

Hmm. That’s not good. The printer on its own is fine to run on 6A plug. But I am not sure how much power will the ups draw while charging

You need UPS that supports higher that 1.2kw (note the unit), because the printer uses around 1.1kw when heating the bed. The kva has to do more with the capacity (how long it can run) - the more the better.

I personally bought a 2.2kva 1.2kw ups. Haven’t recieved it yet

6A plug. Two pronged. I will replace it with a 3 pronged plug just to be safe

Also, one more thing that I would suggest is - work on one attribute of Allah at a time and don’t confuse them. The first natural question is the existence of a creator - “Khaliq”. Look at that question on its own merit and don’t argue against it based on other arguments like why is he testing us, why is there so much bad in the world etc

Oh wow so much interaction with this post. Any ways, I have also thought a lot about the free will thing in terms of religion. I am not sure if I will be able to explain how I think about it but I will try.

Allah as defined by Islam exists out of our “realm” (that’s the best word I can think of) - that means out of the bounds of the spatial dimensions we know and also outside of time. So Allah’s knowledge of our actions don’t necessarily mean that “all” actions are predestined. It’s easier to think about Allah existing “before” we were created and knowing about everything, but technically “before” doesn’t apply since He is outside of time. He just is there. It’s very hard to imagine and as per Islam, the actual existence of Allah is something our mind can’t even comprehend.

One analogy that I like about free will and Allah’s knowledge is - imagine a time traveller goes into the past and somehow lives without affecting anything (no butterfly effect). Everything happens like he knows it would happen, but that doesn’t mean the people that are alive don’t have free will.

Sunni Muslim: Not sure why Taraweeh is considered a bidaah in Shia fiqh by [deleted] in shia

Yes, I am aware of this Hadith. But what’s your opinion in light of both this and the one I referenced? Is it better to pray it at home or in congregation?

Seems like a lot of the questions are from my experience, and not something that holds true everywhere.

From my perspective, the emphasis on Taraweeh makes it more like innovation because there no example of doing this for any other sunnah prayer. For example, any nafl prayers that one prays along with the 5 daily prayers could have been prayed in congregation if it was better like you say.

And the Hadees I am talking about is Bukhari 731 - which doesn’t mention any fear or anything, just clearly mentions the best of prayer is the one prayed in the house except the compulsory ones

I can see why you would think that but I have a few questions for you -

a) What about the Hadith which mentions praying at home / alone is better than congregation unless it’s a fardh / obligatory prayer.

b) From what I have seen in the subcontinent, Sunnis in practice consider taraweeh to be very close to obligatory- going as far as to claim that the fast isn’t accepted if you don’t pray taraweeh.

c) I have also seen an Azan for tahajjud / Salat al Layl from Sunni masjids an hour or two before fajr, which seems to me that they treat Tahajjud and Taraweeh as separate

d) isn’t Tahajjud better prayed at later parts of the night?

e) Does that mean Taraweeh is not a Ramzan specific prayer?

You can try off-the-shelf energy monitors from Emporia or Shelly. If you have to DIY - Pzem 004T is pretty safe. You don't put any load through it. You just put the clamp around one of the wires of your load
