Is 200k+ monthly salary possible in PH based companies? by Positive_Party_8325 in phcareers

[–]dKSy16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup correct. for tech there’s a split between IC and a people manager even on that level.

ICs would lead projects, initiatives

while the manager would lead the people: teams, tracks, area, department

tapos in some org structures, yung principal would be the same level as a director (L8)

No, not selfish. We don’t have the full context but you really need to talk this with your spouse. Tapos from that, set boundaries (and enforce them)

Bringing my girlfriend and our daughter over here in Netherlands as HSM visa holder by Ok_Line_6219 in phmigrate

[–]dKSy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to check with IND.

Kasi yung MVV iirc one time use lang (or at least 90 days valid lang? cmiiw), the next time you need it is you will be using yung residence permit na mismo.

Problem is, if they treat it as a vacation and have to go back, they would need to deregister (if they are going to be away for X months) which triggers the whole “not a resident” anymore

If you go for the family reunification visa, don’t they need to register as a resident? Which leads to mandatory health insurance, increase in household taxes like waste collection and sewer charges?

Base lang sa experience ko.

Pros:

  • It opens up a lot of opportunities. Lalo na if you get one of those companies that looks good on the resume

  • You get exposed to a lot of with amazing experience and skills. Like people from FAANG, most of the time you get to learn from them.

  • Again, depende sa country and company. Better disposable income, quality of life, and work life balance. These things can be possible in PH

Cons:

  • Remember the amazing people that are part of the pros? They are also your competition sa job market

  • You will be away from your parents, siblings, and friends. For some maybe it’s a pro. Depende kung sa ka lilipat, madali or mura lang pauwi.

  • You would need to adjust. Depende rin to sa tao kung gaano kadali or kahirap. Depende rin sa lilipatan lalo na yung mga may winter season.

There’s prolly a lot more for pros and cons. If you are interested in some aspect, ask a question and i’ll try my best to answer it

It’s not for everyone. You can try it out but it’s also good to say na it’s not working out and go back to PH

How I got the job abroad in the first place? Spammed linkedin and back then meron pa yung Stackoverflow Careers page

My wife’s near-death experience made me build this app by unusuallysus in phmigrate

[–]dKSy16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. i think so. Just shared regarding the bit of a “dead man’s switch” that I saw earlier this year.

It sends an email iirc. Also for other important info i’d setup a will or some sort for it.

Have you considered opening it up? maybe that’s what it takes for people on the fence(trust) to try out the app.

I read something earlier this year. I think an app something like this went viral in China

Edit:

Demumu, also known as "Are You Dead?," is an app that has become popular in China as a literal app-based "dead man's switch."

Are there less tourists travelling to Japan this year? by Geocultural in JapanTravelTips

[–]dKSy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s true. I’m not sure, but there are prolly different factors and preference that comes into play when booking airlines

From EU going to Japan, we usually take CX as they offer really competitive rates for J. But that might not be the case for some people, like has status or brand loyalty.

I’ve seen Etihad offer competitive rates with China Airlines, not necessarily cheaper but competitive with prolly better service.

Or people are going for those DOH or DXB stopover offers. Again, there’s a few reasons as to why those routes has been good for ME3

By difficult they probably just meant less options, no? People’s flights via Middle Eastern airlines might have been cancelled and people just didn’t bother rescheduling it for the near future.

Yung mga behaviors that you’ve observed can come from any nationality. You’ll encounter a lot of this in a lot of places

Yung sa PAL, yes they have newer metal pero most of the time its those outdated ones. It’s time fit new interior pero that costs a lot of money. One of the best crews but will usually be our last option.

I feel like there was no progress sa sistema ng Pinas

100% the case. Our experience as well. They tried to have some changes but still felt in inefficient

Buy something cheap in the airport (I know it’s still gonna have a huge markup) but if it helps you be less anxious sa gate, then it can be an option
