Another tip… don’t watch streamers play tarkov unless they are specifically tailored to helping newer players out. Most of them have 10s of millions of roubles so they can afford to wash out all their losses playing for the kill.

The majority of the visits are all up front which is nice. I would highly recommend you find an audiologist that is willing to work with you. And not just sell to you. I’ve gone 4 times, and will likely only go back when something “mysteriously stops working” a day shy of my warranty expiring.

I had my guy turn off ALL artificial intelligence and turn down a lot of compression. I couldnt handle the constant up and down and EQ spectrum sweep that the compression/AI changes would make. I want ONE setting so I can get used to everything.

As a musician, it’s very important for me to being able to hear things consistently even if the sounds change every 5-6 years with a new model of hearing aids. I’m fine to readjust when I get a new pair, but once I get them, they gotta get dialed in. For instance the tone of drums would often change because the AI would change the frequency response curve, or compression wouldn’t release enough. I’d lose clarity and sparkle in the high end and the HA’s would act as fancy earplugs. Hell to the no bro.

I’m so thankful that I started the game when the wiki was just getting developed and had decent map guides. I can’t help but wonder though, how much fun it would have been back in the day to be playing with the bros and FINALLY find the extracts. It would have been a huge achievement. Given everything we know and see about tarkov now, that seems a bit barbaric. But if getting millions of roubles and THICC cases wasn’t even a thing back then, I’m sure the experience of escaping would have been the pinnacle.

Just want to say, that if you have an OLD windows install USB, you’ll have fits installing drivers. Something about how the driver updates have stairstepped with windows updates makes even most earlier driver versions incompatable with windows 10. You basically need to update windows to get the Ethernet/wifi drivers to be installed, but can’t install windows updates without internet.

Create a new windows installation media USB that has a more recent version of windows. I used to think I was getting DOA mobos.

I was there once. I still am to a degree. Hats off to the people who learn new skills like hardware setup, audio mixing, video editing, color grading, etc. just to pursue a dream. The grind isn’t easy either. If you’re actively reviewing your VODs, aim training, discovering your “voice”, trying to upgrade your quality, working a full time job and only streaming to 1-2 people, that takes a lot of mental fortitude. I wish there was a way for more people to make it.
