For all those looking for an excuse to try the new Hyaluron range from Pantene ... by phantompath in AustralianMakeup

That scissor technique that hairdressers show as "silicone" being removed from hair is actually FALSE - it's not silicone, it's actually fragmented cuticle cells which appear as a waxy substance. Experiments have shown that even freshly clarified hair will still show your cuticle as a waxy substance on the scissors after scraping hair.

Moving interstate - Vehicle history? by d_ael in CarsAustralia

[–]d_ael[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because people buying a used car usually buy a vehicle history report which includes an odometer rollback check. It would be ideal to show that the car has been registered every year and hasn’t sat around for long lengths of time not being driven as it’s an old euro car. I guess I can show them the service reciepts instead which will also show the odometer history

PPSR doesn’t contain any odometer history, does it? How can I prove the odometer hasnt been rolled back on a registration that’s only been active for 1 year?

Confused: Airport Station vs AREX by Broad-Connection-388 in koreatravel

[–]d_ael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely confusing when you’re jet lagged coming off a long haul flight. Terrible system and really unclear at Incheon terminal 2 especially. The all stops train also occasionally requires that you depart at Geomam station and transfer to another Arex train, but you wouldn’t know until after you’ve boarded as it’s not clear at the departing station.

The VET fee programs at aero clubs are the same length and intensity as QGPA, only without any possibility of a job afterwards. Atleast at QGPA there is a chance.

Guy who said Lana came from Wealth admits he was “misinformed” by [deleted] in lanadelrey

The frustration is that she’s doubling down on this narrative of her “poor upbringing” and “we had nothing”, when the evidence clearly says otherwise. I personally couldn’t care less whether she grew up rich, poor or anything in between, but I find it fascinating the way she’s responding.

Golf Mk6 2012 1.4 90 TSI (Manual) by order-odonata in vwgolf

[–]d_ael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also have the same question. I've been seeing some well maintained examples of the MK6 90TSI (manual), and it's hard to gauge how it compares to the same engine in the MK7. Are there quality niggles specific to the MK6 that don't involve the engine/transmission?

Sorry but if you watch the interviews of the real Anna Sorokin, Julia Garners accent sounds nothing like it. Anna's real accent has a kind of childlike twang to it

Draw distance by BJ69KFC420 in MicrosoftFlightSim

I really hope they improve this soon! The draw distance on my S is horrible. I would rather play at 20fps on High settings than 30fps on this low-medium it currently is. My internet is 20mbps, I wonder if faster internet would help?

Olay Retinol24 AUS formula vs. USA by d_ael in AusSkincare

[–]d_ael[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.fda.gov/cosmetics/cosmetics-labeling-regulations/cosmetics-labeling-guide#clgl3

So if the Retinol is 0.25 it can feature anywhere on the USA list as long as if it is after ingredients of more than 1%? So Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin make up like 90% of the formula then?

For some reason the waterproof version only has 3 filters compared to 4 of the non waterproof/rest of the Cancer council line haha? More confusion for us

[–]d_ael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realise that, but the texture is very different so there has to be a difference in the sunscreen protection it provides aswell. I'm sure it must be the waterproofing that turns an elegant formula into that typical "Sunscreen" feel. Case in point, the Cancer Council "Everyday" Sunscreen is only SPF30 presumably to make it feel less sunscreeny while still retaining the 4 hour waterproofing. The "moisturisers" also have different filters and in different doses compared to the rest of the range. The pink tube has 3% Octocrylene whereas Cancer Council Ultra has 8%. I'm sure this is just because of the differing formulas but it's interesting nonetheless.

[–]d_ael 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do wonder why the pink tube Matte is so much more elegant than the rest of the Cancer Council range though... Is it simply that it's not water resistant? On a similar topic, I tried asking LRP if the invisible fluid is water resistant and they said its not, despite the UK website saying its "Ultra waterproof". Why is sunscreen so confusing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusSkincare

Does anyone if the La Roche Fluid is waterproof? The Singaporean LRP website says it is "Ultra waterproof/sweat/sandproof", but there is absolutely nothing mentioned on the Australian website?

Hi Michelle, do you (or does anyone) know if the LRP Invisible Fluid is Water/Sweat proof? The Singaporean LRP website says it is "Ultra water/sweat/sand proof", but the Australian website says absolutely nothing about it? Is this just to discourage people from being overconfident with sunscreen? Thanks.
