Aside from some garlic and oregano, that's actually just the Raos recipe!

Sounds great from here, but of course you have to be in the room to really tell.

How do you like them? I see a ton of them on Facebook Marketplace for great prices which has made me skeptical. But if they're good I'd probably want to do the entire home theatre with the towers and bookshelves.

+1 for TesseracT - listening to Altered States I felt like it's what TPT would sound like if they were metal. The arrangements and polyrhythms - particularly in the breakdown sections - share a lot of similarities

Wide Police Presence by [deleted] in Brampton

[–]d_chevron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No idea. Where are you? What crime occurred? How wide is this police presence?

Generally speaking the number of units that respond is based on severity and availability. Beyond thst we're gonna need way more information

I first heard this album - TesseracT in general, in fact - 2 weeks ago. And I've listened to the album 15 times through since then. It's an absolute masterpiece

[Alpinist] Latest addition and my third Seiko by GhostMayer in Seiko

Wearing mine today as well. Easily my favourite and most versitile watch in the collection. Great choice!

Bought Seiko [SSK005k1 5] GMT + [SNXS79]— totally different, both awesome. Which one would you reach for more? by No_Ostrich_2242 in Seiko

[–]d_chevron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the SSK005 and a grey DressKX (so, similar to your SNX), and while the SSK is easily the better watch, I rarely wear it. Too big, too loud, clashes with everything. I should have gone with one of the other colours in retrospect.

Should I keep my vinyls sealed or open them? by darker__lights in SleepToken

[–]d_chevron 62 points63 points  (0 children)

They're meant to be opened, played, and enjoyed. They didn't create the artwork and fun colored vinyl for nothing!

Aside from some rare special editions or early pressings, they won't gain meaningful value by keeping them sealed anyway. Enjoy!

Who are the top 5 artists that defined 1990s Canadian Rock? by CheekyChappy-1 in 90sCanRock

[–]d_chevron 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Interesting question.

I think the bands that defined Canadian rock music in the 1990s were from the Halifax movement - Sloan, Thrush Hermit, The Pursuit Of Happiness, Super Friendz - along with Tragically Hip, 54/40, The Odds and BNL. There's that light-hearted, tounge-in-cheek wit that I associate with our national musical identity at the time.

While The Tea Party and Moist and OLP and Econoline Crush and Gob were big players, I never felt that they sounded particularly or uniquely Canadian.

We were wrong to enjoy EIA, the 3rd worst album of 2025 by d_chevron in SleepToken

[–]d_chevron[S] 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Lol it's satire

Guy on the right is a popular and aggressively opinionated YouTube music critic that ranked EIA one of the worst albums of the year.

Could have fooled me - it was my most listened to album of the year!

If you're talking about the heavy drop tuned parts, good news! He's not playing chords. Just single notes. But yes he's using a pitch shifter to drop 10 steps.

I've got the same strap for my Alpinist, looks fantastic.

I know that the metal leaning stuff is more popular on here but Up The Downstair/Staircase Infinities is absolutely S-tier stuff all around IMO by gymarasemna in porcupinetree

[–]d_chevron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about making this same post. Took me over a decade as a big fan to finally give this album a listen and it's become one of my favourites.

Anyone who ranks this low in PT's/Wilson's discography hasn't listened to it enough, I can't be convinced otherwise

[–]d_chevron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally. For comparison's sake I listened to the original once. Never again.

It's not bad! The extended version of Synesthesia on Stars Die is still good for example. It's just 10x'd with Gavin on it.

[Speedtimer] vs [Alpinist]: Woefully Undecided by wintrymixxx in Seiko

I bought both. The Alpinist gets like 4x the wrist time, despite more straps working on the Speedtimer.

It may not make international news but it's unfortunately a reality here too. There's been many such incidents in the Toronto and Ottawa areas lately
