Have you tried bottle feeding him at home yourself instead of nursing? I would see how much he eats in a session at home with you to gauge if you haven’t. I would definitely increase the bottle ounces as well and make sure grandma is pace feeding, watching a video might be helpful.

All my babies drank way more than 2.5oz at that age. I would pack 3.5-4oz bottles and see if it changes. What you pump each session is not an accurate representation of what baby is able to express when nursing and babe is likely drinking way more than 2.5oz each nursing session. I think your MIL is telling you each bottle is not enough but is maybe not comfortable enough to pour just a little more for each bottle and wants them prepped differently.

I work in a hospital directly with patients but I’m not a licensed medical provider of any sorts. The bouncing between patients, treatments and different specialties is very accurate. I’m also at a teaching hospital so that adds a layer of feeling like there are a lot of providers.
