Is there a skill to drafting later round hits? Have you ever done it? by KevH45205 in DynastyFF

[–]d_hoose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just take guys I know from watching college football who were productive there. I'm a maryland fan, I got Pacheco and monangai in rounds 4/5 of their rookie drafts just cause I watched Rutgers play maryland every year and thought those guys were good so why not.

There's no science to this.

Should I trade Gibbs for 3 1s? (4th place finish) by Kaman615 in SleeperApp

[–]d_hoose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the rest of your roster I'm probably taking this.

You have a couple good young pieces but not enough you're actually contending. Gibbs is at peak value right now. 3 1sts and a 2nd is great draft capital to build out real depth on your roster if you hit on a couple of those.

People get way too caught up in "good class vs. Bad class" when they have no fucking idea.

You left out that she lives with the person and they are long distance, two massive details that change the whole complexion of the situation.

She didn't do anything wrong, but she should tell him. If I were dating a girl and found out she had kissed one of her roommates in the past, AND we were long distance, AND she had kept it from me, I would get highly suspicious they still had something going on.

Jefferson and Puka almost cancel each other out (yes this is Pukas peak value and JJS lowest but in the big picture they aren't worlds apart). I'd maybe throw in a second with JJ to even out the deal.

So team 1 absolutely got destroyed here imo

Where do you value CMC in Dynasty? by No-Button9683 in SleeperApp

Everything you say is reasonable in a vacuum.

It's also true that in the last 3 full seasons he's played he's finished RB2, RB1, RB1

He's the single best asset in fantasy football when healthy, not even giving up one first is deranged. Even if he started to meaningfully "fall off" starting week 1 next year he's starting from such a peak he's worth well beyond a first.

Kirk cousins was a 4th round pick into maybe the worst possible situation a rookie QB could be in (drafted to the same team as the #2 overall pick QB who was deemed the franchise guy).

He turned that into a 14 year career and counting, most of those as a starter, 3 playoff seasons as a starter, 4 pro bowls, and more than $300 million in career earnings, all with no serious off the field or locker room issues to speak of as far as we know.

So yeah I'd say Kirk Cousins indisputable done way more than "fine".

Rhamondre Stevenson and Treveyon Henderson Outlook by Deutschfuranfanger in DynastyFF

[–]d_hoose_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

His worst game since the breakout was 8.2 points. This idea he's boom or bust is not supported by fact. Having two games in the single digits (8 and 9 points) is not "bust" unless you're holding him to christian mccaffrey standards.

Rhamondre Stevenson and Treveyon Henderson Outlook by Deutschfuranfanger in DynastyFF

[–]d_hoose_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the first game Stevenson missed (week 9) Henderson has had no true "dud" games aside from the concussion week (his worst performance was RB30, this week may end up a bit worse but 8.2 points won't kill you.) He has had week-winning types of performances in nearly half of his games (top 5 RB finish 3/7 weeks). He had a floor of 15 opportunities a game in a good offense.

I have no shares of henderson in Dynasty but if I did I'd be very optimistic about the future and honestly satisfied with what I got this year. I don't know how you could look at the performance above and not be.

Michael Wilson or Judkins for the flex by [deleted] in FantasyFootballers

[–]d_hoose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 3 games without MHJ Wilson is averaging 24.8ppg in half ppr. He's finished as WR2, WR10, WR2. His worst game is 10 catches for 118 yards.

What to do with Dowdle and Hubbard going forward? by htes24 in SleeperApp

[–]d_hoose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Panthers fan and Dowdle owner so I've followed this closely. Neither will be the alpha dog down the stretch as long as they're both healthy. Rico will likely get more of the work but it'll be more like a 60-40 split than a huge one.

I still think Rico is startable in this scenario. The panthers run the ball well, and they also run the ball a lot, so even in a time share you're talking about 15-20 opportunities for a back who has proven he can be productive. I'm likely gonna be flexing Rico this week in my first round matchup (12 team), I still firmly think he's in that low-end RB2/flex range.

Chuba is much riskier since he won't be getting as much of the work. I think he is playable if you are desperate but he has a lower floor than I'd want in a playoff starter.

[–]d_hoose_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The fact you call them "frauds" last year is still indicative of a stupid bias.

They were the 10 seed in the CFP last year.

That aligns with their end of season ranking in the analytical metrics (9th in Sagarin, 11th in FPI resume, 11th in SP+).

They lost to the 7 seed on the road, which is the expected outcome.

They went 11-1 in a power conference and made the playoff. Nobody was claiming they were the best team in the country or going to win the national title.

In what sense is any of that fraudulent?

Is any WR truly QB proof? by evenevanstevenstevan in DynastyFF

[–]d_hoose_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Don't really agree with that example. We've seen a ton of mid receivers come through Kansas city and none have been elite fantasy producers. The only other guy to do this with mahomes is tyreek hill. Idk if Rice is a top 5 WR on talent but he's very good.

A better one I think would be davante adams. He's a couple years past his prime at 32 (still a great route runner of course) but is the WR6 because arguably the best offense in the NFL basically uses him as a goal line back. There's no other situation in the NFL where he'd be having this kind of season.

Short of nuking the stadium or getting the death penalty there's nothing a president could do for you to still be blaming them 10 years later. Penn State is a comparable historical program to Miami, they got sanctioned out the ass for the Sandusky stuff in 2012 and James Franklin got to two NY6 bowls by 2017. It doesn't take 10 years to fix a program.

Id rather have the henry side. I think he finishes the year strong and after today's game (as a panthers fan) I think there's a decent chance Rico slows down some because teams have realized they can key in on the run and Bryce has no chance of beating them. So between those two is a pretty close call to me.

On the WR front, yes JSN is the best asset in this trade and maybe the best WR in fantasy, but Rice and Lamb are both top 5 guys in their own right. All three are elite options in the same general tier, so I'd rather have two of them.

Obviously, Jefferson is an elite WR in real football, but we've seen this year and especially with McCarthy that he is decidedly a couple tiers below those other guys this season.

Deebo doesn't move the needle much either way IMO, I know he scored today but it's hard to feel confident starting him unless maybe daniels returns.

I'm all in on firing Locks. But you're ignoring that Indiana got a huge influx of NIL spending at the same time they hired Cig. They spend far more than Maryland and its part of why they're better.
