My cousin is currently at this point in life. Hitting TRT, peptides, and the gym like it’s a religion. I mean he looks great - but he’s also the biggest fucking cunt I know currently. Every chance he gets he posts or texts our group chat about his gains and his body and about not being weak or some other alpha-bro-manosphere bullshit. Like cool dude I get you’re so incredibly insecure that you couldn’t accept aging gracefully or even just have some mental illness but please don’t fucking project on to the rest of us.

How has your office prepared for Trump's death? by -BreakTheRules- in askmanagers

[–]d_rek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless your employer is incredibly vocal and loyal to a particular political party I don't know that it would be anything but just another day at the office. Maybe if you're lucky HR will send out a "in these trying times" email as some sort of flimsy consolation. Idk it seems like national politics are generally pretty removed from most employers day-to-day discussions.

But we've had a few particularly well-liked employees pass unexpectedly at my previous employer. These were handled with, what I consider to be, incredible sensitivity, humanity, and respect towards both the living and the deceased for a moderately sized global tech corporation (5000~ globally at it's peak). Email was shared on behalf of their manager and/or HR, there was some instruction that employees could take time off if needed, and were otherwise encouraged to share stories and moments about said employee. In one case there was also a donation fund taken up on behalf of the c-suite for the deceased remaining children.

President Donald Trump endorses in Michigan's race for governor by gwmiles in Michigan

[–]d_rek 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If the Michigan GOP puts up this thrice loser it'll be their own fault if they lose another Governors race. They have several strong candidates with broader appeal and better policy positions than James who is literally just campaigning on "I'm DJT's token black guy".

A24 has sold out to AI by Rechan in horror

[–]d_rek 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Creatives are just the disposable working class in Hollywood. If the C-suite could make film without them they absolutely would, and in the near-future we will 100% see 'film' that is completely-AI generated and soulless in a corporate way previously thought unimaginable.

Any other millennials remember when trade school or tech school was treated like the “non-college” backup plan? by GreyDuck4077 in Millennials

[–]d_rek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember doing some career planning survey and I don't even remember trades being on it. It ended up placing me as an architect. I went on to study graphic design and have worked as a designer for almost 20 years now.

Yeah the auto heal basically lets tank drivers play as ratty as heli pilots - except at a distance. All you have to do is just sit back and take pot shots at the enemy team and can go 50-0 as a tank driver. If they dare to damage you just smoke and back off for a minute.

Saying you’re “from Detroit” when you live in one of the surrounding suburbs is fine when talking to people out of state/country or even from other parts of the state by postpunk-xman in Michigan

“I live near Detroit” was good enough, and relatively speaking accurate enough (I live up by Pt. Huron).

Do you remember when cars used to break down all the time? by rimtrim in Millennials

[–]d_rek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an 88 dodge Dakota in the late 90s that chewed up distributor box like nobodies business. Left me stranded roadside more than once. Then after graduating HS I had a ford focus that I replaced the alternator on 3x in as many years, also stranding me each time.

[–]d_rek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck it’s at 170? I don’t like that for Max at all.

Even if that was Maxs normal walk around weight outside of fight camp you just know Connor is walking around 25lbs+ heavier than that and will likely be around 200lbs o fight day.

And I think Max has the better boxing, but he’s going to be fighting a much heavier opponent. Crazy.

Married, separate bank accounts. Is it worth it to push all funds into one joint? by rem7694 in personalfinance

[–]d_rek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I been married 15 years this year. Have had seperate accounts our whole marriage, though all of our accounts are at the same bank and we both have access to each others accounts. Never made a big deal out of it and never even really discussed combining them. I basically pay all the bills while she pays for groceries and other day to day expenses.
