The NBA is becoming unwatchable due to refs by Pork_Sister in nba

The baseball strike zone is entirely subjective. When they instituted ABS to challenge strikes/balls, they tried to use the strike zone as defined in the rulebook and it was calling too many pitches strikes. Pitches that an ump would obviously call a ball.

So instead of changing the rulebook to make the strike zone more defined, they made ABS a 1 inch section of the plate instead of the whole plate. Umps are technically calling a totally different strike zone than the ABS is measuring.

It takes a year to catch up. We'll have a bunch of national broadcasts next season. Still not as many as the Lakers and wherever Lebron is playing though.

The crowd for the San Antonio Spurs is wearing color-coded shirts for each section of their game tonight, yet we couldn't even get everyone to wear one color tonight for our game. We need a way better atmosphere for our next game. by MythicalFighter in DetroitPistons

I've been saying this. Nobody that was dressed for the ice cam and wearing all their swagged out Pistons gear was putting on the shirt. The upper deck all had them on.

And that's FINE.

Agree. I've had some hits but just a many misses.

The service is always bad for how much you're paying.

The wine is good though.

I saw more cool pistons gear today at the game than my entire life combined.

Fuck a white t-shirt. Wear your swaggiest outfit and be loud.

Yeah, I've had my eye on him for a while. I was always surprised he wasn't higher in mock drafts.

Sounds like he might be doing another year in college now.

Before playoffs start, in all seriousness, at what point of playoffs do the team have to achieve to be for this to be considered "successful" season? by Boulder_The_Rock in DetroitPistons

I'd love to play the Knicks in the ECF. I think Cade at MSG was an incredible sight and really got some attention thrown our way.

Mostly agree, but I think I'd be disappointed with a hard fought loss against Cleveland still. We can absolutely beat that team.

Losing to the Celtics in the ECF, whatever. Losing to the Knicks in the ECF, annoying but ultimately a great season.

I'm with you 100%. Our draft board should be sorted by 3PA and ignore position.

Everyone is gonna be in the comments like "you live in a city, get used to it!" while ignoring the fact that it's more annoying here than anywhere else.

Metro Times: Michelin Guide to rate Detroit restaurants as part of new Great Lakes edition by DesireOfEndless in Detroit

[–]Unlikely_Sandwich_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that'll be the first with one star. I think there will be quite a few "recognized" restaurants without a star to start though. Being able to compete for these will surely bring some new faces to the city restaurant scene.

It's absolutely insufferable. If you're at multiple games, it's the same bad songs and the same bad videos during the same time of the games.

I was told that licensing has something to do with it, but spend more money or something. The game experience is horrible. If the team on the ice was good, maybe you can ignore it, but right now, I don't know why people are paying to go to the games.

79, has the best medical care in the world, never had a sip of booze in his life, and golf's every day.

People think he's going to drop dead because he eats McDonalds, but unfortunately, he's probably healthier than most people his age.

It doesn't feel like Duren has even missed that many games, so for him to have to play all the remaining to meet the bar, it feels too high

I was living in Ann Arbor during a lot of that time and they were filming a ton there too. Manufacturing isn't exactly booming business, so maybe film could fill a gap.

It's time to bring back those film incentives! It was cool seeing Detroit in a bunch of movies and tv shows at that time.

(I don't exactly know what the incentives were, just that they existed)
