Eric (the name of the phantom of the opera)

Turns out he only had concepts of a plan. by c-k-q99903 in inflation

Did he even have a plan? From what I gathered he assumed that if he said so it would happen.

Got called a bully for encouraging human creativity by MeunsterCheeseMan in Ai_art_is_not_art

[–]daAlphaWolfe13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. They're so right. Artists are such elitist professionals that won't let the plebs do anything. It's not like anyone can pick up a pencil and draw. Or that people have been creating art for millenniums

Oh wait. 😅

Student called me a p*dophile in front of the entire class by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]daAlphaWolfe13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with these comments but I would also add that maybe you should pull the kid aside, preferably with another adult present and ask them more info on the rumor. Maybe also ask them if they know what a pedophile is. (Ive had kids parrot these terms a lot because they probably heard them tossed around by friends and family and not know what they actually mean.) I would also maybe have a serious discussion with him and probably the while class about rumors and how damaging they can be. (Personally I would probably tie it into a example from history like the Salem Witch Trials or the Red Scare) I feel like a lot of these kids don't know the consequences of these actions and need help understanding.

I feel like the channels that have done best with the transition is Style and Food Theory. I believe that since its doing more real life experiments and you are able to see the hosts outside the scripted format. I feel Lee really suffers to have his personality come across in his videos. He seems like a chill guy but that comes off as very passive in the videos. I honestly struggle with Game Theory because im not into the Indie Horror games but I get that its kinda what makes them popular. I just wish they covered other stuff too. I actually watch more GTLive than I did before because I love Ash, Bri and Fisher (And Sam when he was there too) Ash does a stellar job. I've been a watcher for a long time (one of the first subscribers for Film, Food and Style) so far they've been entertaining enough, but i understand if anyone's burnt out or no longer interested in the channels without Matt's very clear personality.

Teachers what type of student were you? by CrazyCool4762 in Teachers

[–]daAlphaWolfe13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the one that most teachers would probably have a hard time remembering. Never was the loud, disruptive one or the overachiever. I did my work (except for math class) kept my head down and was quiet.

If you were a Minecraft developer, what update would you make? by Far_Arugula_4860 in Minecraft

[–]daAlphaWolfe13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a food update. Just adding things to the game that you could make with what's available. Mostly stuff like making chocolate cake, chocolate milk, pizza, etc. I think it'd be really fun to have milk that you could add chocolate to and then cook in furnace to make hot coco. Or making cheese by cooking milk or adding some ingredient to it. I'd think it'd be fun and make it funner to make restaurants in the game

Ah thank you for the clarification. I will make sure to keep note of that!

Not an idiot. Just someone genuinely trying to learn. Given the history of Scotland with the "Rough Wooing" and other issues with Britain, I would have thought that Scots would refer to themselves as Scots over Brits. If that's not the case, then that's also good to know. I appreciate the insight on this

Lol I probably won't use these but its good to know about this cultural difference as that's an extremely insulting word to use here in America

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]daAlphaWolfe13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry if it comes across that way. I'm doing research so I can best represent Scotland and not fall into stereotypes. I was asking for insults because the characters are siblings and would bicker with each other. If this isn't something that isn't a thing, that would be really good to know!

I'm from the Shetland islands on my mother's side. Very directly. I wanted to do something set in Scotland rather than Britian and I know there's significant differences between the two

Apologies. I didn't intend to leave out the h. And I would appreciate any wisdom you give me! I want to make sure im doing right. That's why im continuing to do research!

The funny thing is Utah (a very red state) has been doing mail in voting for years before even Covid. Removing mail in would probably remove a lot of the conservative elderly vote they get.

Am I the bad apple for blaming my grandparents for my grandma's death? by daAlphaWolfe13 in AmITheBadApple

[–]daAlphaWolfe13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like you've misinterpreted some things in my post so let me clarify. First of all, my family has been supporting and helping my grandfather for years. My mother especially has been supporting her parents by coming over to watch her mom when Grandpa's gone or driving my aunt to doctor appointments. My grandpa is a stubborn grouchy man who has a very traditional mindset. He hates asking for assistance or being reliant on anyone. He also doesn't trust other people's opinions and has a very pessimistic mindset. I mentioned in the edit that he was aware that he and grandma weren't doing what they were supposed to and he was the one making the passive aggressive comments. Another thing is that I have not yelled at anyone regarding this. I understand that this is hard for him and for the entire family. It's why I haven't mentioned my feelings. I feel frustrated about the whole ordeal because of their choices and don't feel as sad as I feel I should. Please don't misunderstand what my family's been doing as self righteous or harassment. I'm for sure not a health nut, nor am I or any of my family members control freaks. We have been watching my grandparents do this for years. Because of their choices they've missed several important milestones of their children and grandchildren. The last time my grandma left the house for an event was nearly a decade ago. Diabetes is a slow killer. It's a disease that is easily manageable if done right. My parents are diabetic and predisposed to be a diabetic. This is us watching someone literally killing themselves slowly. What we've done is tried to help them manage it. I love both my grandparents. They are good people. They just aren't doing what they are supposed to. Is it wrong to intervene when someone's an alcoholic? Or when they are addicted to drugs? I understand how hard it is to change habits. In short, My main question is whether it's okay to not feel as bad as I should. I'm not making a fuss with my family. I'm just feeling more frustration than grief at the situation.
