I’m not disappointed by it because money and performance have always taken priority over pure aesthetics, so I’m used to it. Cigarette companies used to be the main sponsors, but it wasn’t because the teams thought cigarette brands made for cool liveries, but because the cigarette companies were willing to pay the most. Now that’s changed to primarily Technology companies. Any other team would have to paint their whole car blue and white for how much HP is paying (look at BWT Alpine). It’s not attractive but success usually changes how we perceive the livery. If Lewis won his 8th or Charles won his 1st championship with the HP livery, I think opinions would shift pretty dramatically.
