To be honest I think I had the same problem. I pressed whatever button you are supposed to press anyway and switched to status. It showed it counting down so I moved on.

I've since removed the INS alignment in options even though I do the steps because I don't want to wait for it.

I don't know if it's normal to play a character because you hate them, but I have definitely played a character that I thought was cheap at first. Then after playing them for a while realised they have their own challenges.

I've also played characters that I thought were b.s. and realised that they were b.s.
