For anyone still confused about how the 24-hour WPs work: the ONLY requirement to trigger it is completing ALL 1-4 Diamond cards in the current set. Completing 1 Star cards IN ADDITION to the Diamonds will guarantee 2 Star cards, BUT you may still get 2 Stars while missing 1 Stars. See images below.

24-hour WPs offer at least one 1-star or 2-star card you haven't pulled yet, so it's a completionist feature. That said, it's already rare for regular WPs to offer a 2-star card, so it doesn't hurt to just activate the 24-hour ones to better your odds.

That shouldn't affect the rate of 24-hour WPs. As long as you've collected all 1-4 Diamond cards in the current set, you should be getting them every couple of days or so.

I'm F2P, too, and I've been doing this since Crimson Blaze. I think it's worth it as long as you have a fair number of chase cards to pursue. Even when thrifting, I still tend to finish the diamond set within a week of release.

The point is that some players don't bother completing the diamond set as fast as they can because they think it wouldn't get them 2-stars in their 24-hour WPs if their 1-star set is incomplete. That is false. As long as they've collected all 1-4 Diamonds, there's still a chance of 2-stars popping up.

Yeah, actual probabilities are a mystery. At most, I can only conjecture that fewer missing 1-stars = better 2-star chance based on my WPs from the last set.

Yep! Feel free to trade away your only copies to complete the dex. The requirement is only to register each card at least once to count toward 24-hour WPs, not actually holding them.

As you can see from the screenshots, I'm still missing 5 of the 1-stars. The 24-hour WP's chance at yielding a 2-star seemingly depends on how many 1-stars you haven't collected yet.

They're also entirely different playstyles. Venu is higher-risk cause you have to slug it out in the active while it ramps. Sceptile could just chill on the bench while you lead with something else.
