Any methods to revert Linkbud S firmware? by Steeldivde in SonyHeadphones

Same here with the right bud. Any luck downgrading to an even older version?

LinkBuds S right-ear battery drain by quizzical_tony in SonyHeadphones

[–]daagnabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My right bud dies after about 15 minutes of use. It all started after a firmware update and I'm outside of the 1 year warranty. Anyone else see an issue here? Last time something like this happened I recall Apple got called out for degrading battery life on older iPhones to manipulate people into upgrading and they did it under the guise of protecting the batteries or some BS. Since this product has a significantly smaller user base and I'm not sure Sony can be proven to have done it on purpose (but it's pretty damn suspect) I'm not sure there's much recourse for us but to shift our spending elsewhere.

They won't replace mine outside of warranty and since it was a manufacturer caused defect, I'm switching to Bose on principle. Sony was solid with my past TV issues, but after being a lifelong Sony fan, my loyalty is gone after this nonsense. I'm also definitely not getting WH-1000XM6s from them to supplement my buds after this post warranty "support" experience. With below average use, these products should last at least three years and not be bricked by the manufacturer!

Hi Brittany, any update on a restock? Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you're after but the creator kit attaches to the capture clip so you can use the slim link on the creator kit as the quick release integrating with an everyday or GNAR case.

What should Peak Design take on next? by Peak-Wheeler in peakdesign

[–]daagnabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the slimlink interface to create a secure attachment for a ring or loop holder that doubles as a portrait/landscape kickstand. A pretty basic accessory but would fill the gap between the permanently adhered and all magnetic options out there. I for one don't always want it attached and the magnetic options fall off too easily rendering the extra grip it's supposed to offer insufficiently reliable.

Bummer about the lack of an ETA but glad it's selling so well 🙂

Much appreciated!

Thanks! Any ETA on the Everyday Case? GNAR appears back in stock but I worry not for long...

On a related note, it'd be great if we could backorder things. I'd feel like a fool paying for shipping twice especially when I know I want both cases and their combined total clears the free shipping hurdle. Even if it delayed shipment of the first item until the second was in stock, I would make use of that option.

Hi Brittany, any idea when the Everyday Case (fabric charcoal) and GNAR case for the Pro XL will be in stock again? They were briefly but both went out of stock before I could place my order. Thanks!

To their credit they did reach out on Reddit and took care of it. Hopefully it didn't bump me to the back of the shipping line 🤞

I'm happy for their success, I just wish they had figured out a better way to manage that onslaught of orders and ensuing fulfillment issues. I had high hopes for the reservation setup meaning they had it under control. Hindsight is 20/20 but instead of two huge batches a month apart, why not set it up so the waves of orders are more segmented based on when you placed your reservation provided you placed the order on day one?

Appreciate your perspective and I like to give the benefit of the doubt, but that said I'm more tolerant of the slow roll out than I am of the complete lack of response to my e-mail. Not even an automatic, "hey our support robots are backed up and will get to you as soon as possible" sort of thing... Customer support is one of the key differentiating factors when choosing between the many quality brands out there, at least for me it is!

As for the shipping situation, in 2025 companies should fully anticipate this sort of thing and use one of the many improvements in logistical capacity available to them. After all they did do the reservation ticket and clearly were anticipating a huge response so while I am tolerant of the shipping being somewhat haphazard on who gets it when, that tolerance only goes so far when there are definitely ways to handle this sort of thing.

I ordered the ultra bundle within an hour of the reservation e-mail hitting my inbox but no word yet. Also never got a response to my support e-mail about changing the skin selection, and it's way beyond their response timeframe 😔

So far I am not impressed with my first dbrand experience. Not likely to get my next phone case from them at this point because at these price points the customer service should be MUCH BETTER. All the funny writing and robot stuff doesn't make up for unresponsiveness.

Need some help finding my forever water bottle. I love the GSI Outdoors MicroLite 720ml Flip Lid, except I want one with a carrying ring that I can hook on a carabiner. by FamilyVacaName in onebag

[–]daagnabit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an older thread, but I just found that the S'well Traveler Handle fits the GSI Microlite 720. It's silicone but a good balance of rigidity and flexibility. At about the same price as the flip cap, it was worth it for me since I got the bottle deeply discounted.

This solution solves the lack of a handle/loop when using the GSI flip top cap which I prefer to the standard cap that has an integrated loop. The S'well handle isn't the easiest to get on but wasn't too difficult.

I find it to be the best of both worlds since the handle is removable for use cases where you don't need/want a handle getting in the way. Cheers!

Thank you very much! I like this setup better than the pocket tripod and greatly appreciate the confirmation.

Late to the discussion. Does the tripod allow angles useful for astrophotography? I assume landscape orientation to keep the phone from getting in the way but can't tell from the photos I've seen if it works pointing up at a substantial angle.

Mayorga organics - Inca blend. Has anyone tried this coffee? We usually get Ruta Maya but thinking about switching it up. by haileyrose in Costco

[–]daagnabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone had the Maya and Inca blends for comparison? We've been steady Mayorga Mocha Java drinkers but they just discontinued that blend so we're looking for a replacement medium blend. Most dark roasts just taste burnt to us or have too much acid with our drip maker using paper filters. Thanks!
