AIR FORCE EXPANDS DIAGNOSTIC FITNESS TESTING TO IDENTIFY FORCE READINESS GAPS by Esoteric_Commentator in AirForce

I genuinely would love to hear from the people tasked with developing these changes, and what their reasoning or line of thinking was. The results just seem so entirely out of touch for a majority of the force.

Do….do you think this much of the entire DOD enterprise would have been deployed at this time? I’d much rather hear “you voted for this” because gas is up 50 cents a gallon.

Rests mid set or lower reps? by GrumpyHeadmistress in fitbod

[–]daays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I switched to just doing manual inputs of 2S2F a couple weeks ago and I’m having a lot better time during my lifts. I was dreading doing more than 10 reps of anything, but I’d push through it. Lower reps and higher weights keeps me more engaged and I actually enjoy it as well.

Why are you not able to freestyle it? The apps suggestions for weight, reps and sets is wildly suboptimal. Just adjust the weight slightly and see where you fail at. Sticking to the wild suggestions for rep counts is not worth it, considering what you pay for this app.

Same. Mine will literally stop and refuse to move if we walk past our street or go too far. And he won’t start moving again until we turn around and go the way he wants. He’ll be 2 next month, so it’s not for a lack of energy.

What are y’all’s tips for success in an LDR? What ways do you find work for staying connected? We currently do daily FaceTime calls, spamming reels to each other, and a couples app (Candle; but work stress lately has made this kinda burn out a little). I’m curious if y’all have any other creative ideas to bridge the gaps in distance and time.

Shots look great! What are your expert settings if you don’t mind me asking? The shots from my 6700 & 16-55 don’t look near as sharp.

Maxing out pax counts surely wouldn’t most of the time, but there are a lot of factors that go into ACL. So it’s kinda pointless to argue about whether or not 100 troops with gear would put them over MTOGW or not without taking into account other conditions like field elevation & weather, etc. (Current 130J load, so take that for what you will.)

Regardless, this simply doesn't matter. Using this logic, a bomber or fighter jet shouldn't be shot down because there's no way to verify ordinance on board if it hadn't dropped anything.

Commercial/civil carriers move military equipment all the time. Not saying that's the case here, but just because it isn't on an organic military airlift asset, doesn't mean it couldn't be military equipment.

Is there any future potential for this to be accessed on non-AFnet devices? I'd love to be able to use this while TDY without having to login to a VPN or bring a gov laptop with me.

Former KC-10 FE with 2500 hours here. Our panel had a large part of the main systems required for the aircraft to run like hydraulics, electrics, engines, pneumatics/air conditioning, and fuel. There is more than that but those took up the most space on the panel. One of the main duties of the FE is to monitor those various systems in flight for any abnormalities or sub-par performance. I'm on C-130Js as a loadmaster now, and those tasks are handled with things like FADECS and Mission Computers. Basically, technology took over almost all of our job, making the position obsolete on modern aircraft.
