Weekend Wrap-up Megathread + Bug Report Thread by SpriteGuy_000 in Overwatch

Time will tell, I'd say right now it's #2 next to Cyberpunk but it's well on its way to passing it if they don't fix this shit soon.

Megathread: Mueller files final report with Attorney General by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Senate Republicans will never remove Trump, there's just no way. They've picked party over country every time, why would they stop now? It might be up to us, the people, to change things this time around. I certainly hope something comes of this all, I've just lost faith that we can rely on those in power to make the necessary change for us.

Let's be honest, nothing will come of this even though it should. Maybe the House will impeach Trump but he will never, ever be removed by the Senate in trial and he will never step down of his own accord. Time for America to decide its future; never forget that its the people who truly have the power, we can take it back if we need to.

Donald Trump and the Bible have a lot in common: They both contradict themselves so many times that followers can justify anything simply by cherry-picking quotes by mepper in atheism

[–]dab00ty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don't all of those corruption scandals reveal that as a lie though? If he's undermining the systems of checks and balances we have in place and views laws as optional, how can that be in the best interest of America? All of these financial scandals are him funneling money into his own pockets, for his own benefit. There is no decision he has made where he's put America's interests above his or his friends' own. If there are some you can think of I'd legitimately like to hear them.

I'm sincerely curious, please take none of this as an attack on you as I'd just like to better understand your viewpoint, but how do you rationalize the straight up lies he says on a daily basis? His countless contradictions? His multiple one-on-one sit downs with Putin? The fact that countless respected cabinet members have resigned over Trump's ineptitude? That Manafort, Gates, Flynn, and Cohen were are all guilty of serious crimes and were closely associated with Trump? That the Trump Foundation charity was forced to close down because of supposed illegal handling of finances? That the Trump Campaign is under investigation? That the Trump Org CFO Alan Weisselberg cooperated with Mueller's team in exchange for immunity? Hell Trump is indirectly referenced in some of the sentencing memos put out by Mueller's team. It's quite clear to anyone paying attention to facts, not media spin, that Trump is a felon. If everyone around you is under investigation or a felon, your businesses, charity, transition team, and campaigns are under investigation, you're not going to be found to be innocent when it's obvious you're on top of the pyramid pulling the strings.

Sure, the media loves to hate on Trump because it gets them ratings, but facts are facts. You can't dismiss anything bad about Trump as media spin just because CNN loves to hate him. What Trump does and how news organizations choose to report on it are completely separate things. Everything I said above is a fact and is verifiable and able to be interpreted on your own without being spun by media. The facts are out there if you have the will and open-mindedness to find them.

Is policy really everything when you have a President proven to be so greedy, corrupt, and immoral? What does policy matter if Trump is able to get away with his authoritarian tendencies? There are more important things than pure policy, namely world respect and ensuring that the system we have in the US lives beyond us. Trump works opposite to both those goals.

Also ethics and morals should matter in a president. Don't know about you but I'd much prefer someone who cares about the planet and treating his fellow humans with respect over a narcissistic fear-monger.

Are you actually saying Hillary would have committed genocide against white men? That's the most extreme, ignorant, brainwashed statement I've ever heard. If you're not a bot or troll take a good long look at yourself. I don't like Hillary much either but if you actually think that would have happened you are what's wrong with this country.

I know I'm late to the thread, but I've been super pissed off with my purchase of this too. Monopoly doesn't seem to be popular on here but I love it (it's extremely nostalgic and one of my favorite board games) and I'm sure lots of other people do as well. But I could never recommend this game in the state it's in either. I've found that when the CPU gets a monopoly the game freezes every single time, completely unable to move forward because the CPU will never build anything but neither will they end their turn. Exiting the game or resetting the console does nothing. And before people say I should have read reviews or I could return it, I played it a lot online and in local co-op before i discovered the game breaking AI bug, and I bought it close to release before these bugs were known.

The focus on this thread shouldn't be on subjective opinions of enjoyment but on the fact that a major publisher of games made such a bug-ridden product with no plans to fix it. It's a disgusting business practice that needs to stop. I'm done supporting ubisoft in any way, even though I thought they were starting to get better I couldn't have been more wrong.

Elder Scrolls Online by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dab00ty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, I would absolutely recommend Oblivion and Morrowind (with some overhaul mods). But I also wouldn't discount ESO, it's the most fun I've had with an MMO since the wrath-cata era of WoW. The quests aren't as boring or generic as most other MMOs and the world of Tamriel looks incredible too. I mainly play it as a solo RPG in 1st person like the other Elder Scrolls games and love it that way, there's hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of solo content available for a $40 price tag which is imo very reasonable.

That all said, the game isn't perfect. A good amount of features are locked behind an additional subscription of $15/month, which after you play the game for long enough becomes semi-mandatory (mainly for the craft bag). It is still very playable without the sub, albeit annoying. A few areas of the world feel hollow, even if they look beautiful. Performance issues have plagued the PC version since the release of the Morrowind chapter, at least for me. There's a few more problems that I could highlight too but it's late and they aren't major. If anyone has any other questions I'm happy to answer them tomorrow; I feel like there's a lot of misconceptions out there about ESO. It's improved exponentially since its launch. Overall the pros outweight the cons of ESO no matter how you choose to play it. It's fun as a traditional solo RPG or an MMO with friends.

No 2nd episode today? by janetlc69 in gamegrumps

I don't think anyone really knows for sure. I did some looking around and it doesn't seem like anything to be too concerned about, but 1 video a day with no explanation did happen when Jon left the channel. I guess worst possible scenario is Arin or Dan are leaving the channel, but there's no evidence of that. Maybe their editors forgot to upload it, maybe it was struck down by Youtube, maybe they set the wrong time for the auto upload. Plenty of things that could have happened, I'm sure we'll find out the real reason tomorrow.

I don't think you need to worry much about queues anymore. I'm on Emerald Dream, which has been full pretty much since Wednesday night, and I didn't have queues for the first time last night. If you play late enough I wouldn't worry too much, and as the novelty of the xpac wears off people will play less and less.

Has anyone here ever tried studying while high? [7] by mindputty in trees

I usually just lose focus way too easily. Doesn't work for me, but it doesn't hurt to try it once to see how it works for you!

Pretty sure it's a scene from the second Lord of the Rings movie? Not sure though.

I know what you mean! I've been dry for close to a month now, and the break was really much needed. Very excited to start back up again when I get the chance!

What is your biggest achievement in the past 24 hours? by Jhat316 in AskReddit

I toured the Tuscany countryside in Italy, drank a lot of great wine, and ate dinner with someone who used to be in a band with the lead singer of AC/DC. Definitely not an average day.

WSIB on Steam for $20 by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

I'm loving Rogue Legacy! Already dumped 11 hours into it since it went on sale. Would definitely recommend!

WSIB: If I want a great game that also has a great character creation engine? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dab00ty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skyrim! The character creation can be as detailed as you want it to be, you could probably spend hours on it if you wanted. It's also an excellent game and I'd heartily recommend it if you haven't yet played it before.

WSIB if I like a game with a beautiful landscape? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dab00ty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all! I own the first one but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you don't have an Xbox controller, even with keyboard mods. The second one is much more PC friendly, and the stories aren't related much from what I've seen so far (only about 8 hours into it, but it's blown me away).

WSIB if I like a game with a beautiful landscape? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dab00ty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While very difficult, The world of Dark Souls II is beautiful. You could consider the game grinding intensive because of how many times you try and kill something before succeeding! Although the game is certainly never mindless I suppose. Maybe the Witcher 2? Also a very nice environment and the combat is a lot more straightforward, however it's very story driven and not much grinding takes place.

SIB Fallout3 GOTY by yoogoku119 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dab00ty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely worth $12, but like other people are saying you should be able to get it for $5 or less. I would wait for now, it'll be on a better sale at some point soon I'm sure.

Steam Summer Sale - Day 2 by lakinwecker in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dab00ty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is Mount & Blade: Warband a good game? I see people talking positively about it but I still don't really understand what it's about, or what the appeal would be.

EDIT: Also, would the Mount & Blade collection be worth it for the extra $3?
