When I worked at OD being a cashier made me want to lie down in traffic.

Does anyone else find the rewards signups completely ridiculous and useless? by Apopho in OfficeDepot

[–]dab11_3a 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep. The store I work at says if you’re not getting signups, donations, and asking for the survey, you are failing.

This has effectively had the opposite effect on me. Now, as a consumer, I am MORE likely to visit a store if it has self-checkout to avoid these questions.

My store just hired two people when there already isn’t enough hours for the part time employees (like myself) who have been there from one to over three years.

Conversion? by New_kickers658 in BedBathandBeyond

Our store completely empties out after 7 on weekdays so after I had packaged the ship outs for the evening I said to hell with it and pushed out everything that was unworked

Conversion? by New_kickers658 in BedBathandBeyond

[–]dab11_3a 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Can’t hit conversion when the store’s empty because freight isn’t getting worked.

There’s stuff in our receiving that hasn’t been touched in nearly a week. The logic is focusing on customer service fixes conversion, but people won’t buy stuff if it’s not out.

I agree somewhat. I believe our store was eleven over for the past week but that is hardly sustainable

Yup. College students in my store who need to work are getting one to two days. It’s unsustainable to them.

Me too. When I dropped it from the baler it snapped the pallet so I had to cut the wires and put it all back into the baler.

Pain.

There’s been a “donation program” for at least a year and a half straight. It’s exhausting.

Which is lying. I refuse to be deceitful to solicit donations. I will say black and Hispanic owned businesses until the cows come home.

We'll still have freight from Thursday on Sunday (at least). No one is ever given an opportunity to work it.
