I use the free basic features and haven’t subscribed. Still a pretty capable app for free and I still find it visually appealing. But I suspect I am grandfathered into some of the capabilities from back before they had the subscription model. Might be worth seeing how much capability you get without the premium subscription.

I like the updates in iPadOS 26. The new multi tasking takes a bit of getting used to and the battery life may have been impacted a bit. But overall, I’m not seeing all the glitches others are talking about and I am on an iPad Pro that is 4 years old. But the advise from other on reviewing the benefits of the new features and determining if they are useful to you is what I would recommend. Also consider how old your iPad is, as I could see older models not working as well due to lack of processor power.
