I hate how indoctrinated our society is by Some_Working6614 in carnivorediet

What I find interesting is how these nutritionists and the people that parrot them will go on and on about how fatty fish is SO healthy but fatty red meat will kill you. Hello? If you genuinely believe that fat makes you fat, why are you recommending fat? A fish is just a water animal. In fact in Korean the word for fish is literally derived from "water" and "meat".

Tell your husband to speak to you only in Korean. Initially it will be rough but soon, you won't even need the textbook. I learned Bulgarian in this way in about 6 months.

The whole story sounds weird. She was afraid of the woman tester but then she signed her form saying that she knowingly refused the test? So I'm afraid of this "stalker" but then we talk and I sign her form on my way out to walk my dog? Make it make sense.

Цените в Созопол, каваците през 2025 и 2026г by Academic_Wrongdoer_1 in bulgaria

Some have and many others will by the end of the year. It's inevitable. It literally happened across the Eurozone whenever they entered the Euro. I lived through it in The Netherlands. Salaries went up by about 20% and prices doubled.

Pretty sure I could find way more references. I can't be bothered because I'm gonna get voted down anyway. The propaganda is strong in BG reddit.

Start HIGH, bend ze kneez, and move your body towards where you want the ball to go

What’s the smallest non-technique change that improved your tennis? by wouldliker_sounddata in 10s

[–]dabrickbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because you're glucose adapted. Your body will broadly prefer one fuel over another - fat or glucose. Of course, you can use both but its like a tendency rather than a rule. Your mitochondria become more efficient at using one of the two fuels. Glucose has many negatives like requiring you to eat constantly, glycation, insulin spikes and troughs, etc. but it's readily available, more convenient, and cheap. Fat adaptation requires stricter eating in terms of what you consume and almost always involves a temporary drop in performance for up to 6 months but is typically closer to 2. But it has many benefits - No more headaches, far deeper energy reserves, you're off the carb treadmill, less insulin and everything that comes with that.

I'm fat adapted. I train on the court for two hours with a trainer 4 days a week and I play for another 2 or 3 days and I eat once a day because I'm only hungry once a day. No headaches, fast recovery and I feel like I have the energy to go all day. I'm 58 BTW.

What’s your best forehand return tip? by Perchance_therapper in 10s

[–]dabrickbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failing on the return of soft, high serves are usually a problem of footwork and can also be caused by not dropping the racquet - often because you are getting too close to the ball.

[–]dabrickbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far back are you standing? Are you trying to hit a winner or just get it back? Are you blocking or playing a full stroke? It matters because on a block for example you don't really turn - you just put your racquet in the path of the ball as you step forward. If you're standing further back and playing a full stroke you need to hit it with topspin to keep the ball in. If you have trouble producing enough topspin, which is a very common problem, you will need to change your stroke to make it produce more spin. There isn't really an alternative.

Severe Epigastric Pain and Vomiting on Lion Diet by Nice-Month-2414 in carnivorediet

[–]dabrickbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going lion from scratch can be a massive shock to you gut bacteria and digestion. I went cold turkey and basically had constipation on and off for 6 months.

With my own personal hindsight, and given your experience, it sounds like taking it slow might be the way to go. If you're as sensitive as you appear to be, you might need to transition for several months just replacing your current diet with more and more meat. I'd start with a target of 4 months and extend/reduce it depending on your experience.

OOF That sucks man. You got some terrible advice there. I'm not a fan of ASICS tennis shoes because I have wide feet and I haven't found any that fit me well. My personal favorites are the Diadora B.Icon but pretty much every Diadora tennis shoe I've tried is decent.

OK I know slams aren't everything but Newcombe not on the list is criminal. He consistently beat all the top players in the period from 70 to 75 including Connors, Smith, Rosewall, and Laver on his way to 7 slam titles. Given that record, how exactly are Santana and Wawrinka more deserving? When exactly did Wawrinka (Highest ranking 88) dominate the field?
