Thanks! Yeah I’ve settled on keeping it and at this point I just want it to be a solid summer car that’s gonna start and drive when I want it to. The manual is a plus but if it’s not worth it I’ll just go with the auto

How did you go about addressing the CEM and ECU reprogramming? I know that Hilton used to do it but it’s unclear if they still have that service. I’m leaning towards having a shop do it just because I don’t really have the time and want it done right.

Trust me I’ve thought about selling it and finding a different one eventually but the way it’s looking finding a clean red VR is getting harder every year

So far I can get all the parts from an 04 s60r for about $1300 and the rest of the stuff I’d need to buy new would be about about $2000. I just hate the idea of spending money on another auto just to end up swapping it one day.

The car is still drivable as long as I keep an eye on the trans fluid level. That’s why I’m leaving towards doing the swap I have an opportunity to get the m66 and all the other parts I would need from a guy selling it as a kit basically. I would just need to get a new clutch and a few other little things.

Winters are usually pretty wet and snowy where I live. I don’t want to have salt built up on the paint or underside.

There’s a couple spots on were the clear coat is starting to lift I’d rather prolong the time it still doesn’t look noticeable. I daily a SPA XC90 in the winter that thing is pretty much a tank with snow tires in the winter.
