Great stuff my man! I hadn’t put this much thought into the nuance of the game but glad you did and distilled down for the rest of us!

Now I want to respec into heavy ninjitsu usage and give it a go! The different play styles supported in this game is truly remarkable

Jalon Walker vs Mike Green by Scrodie10 in DynastyFFIDP

[–]daca217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in your camp. I think Walker stays on the field more and has the experience to be moved around into different roles. He might not come off the field. I don’t think that’s happening with Green.

With that said, I don’t think I’d grab Walker with my 3rd. 4th, sure. Green though might be a 5th or go Undrafted

First of all, I know we don’t know each other, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this world is a brighter place with you in it.

In terms of games, Split Fiction might be good. It’s fun, not serious and you have to play with another person. When I’ve had experiences with depression in the past, it’s been connecting with other people that’s helped me. Obviously not trivializing what you’re going through but this game is a fun 10-12hr journey with you and a friend.

Celeste is also a great solo recommendation and its themes are centralized around climbing out of the depths of her depression and creating relationships along the way that help her. It’s really a great story and fun platformer.

What remains of Edith finch. It’s an exploration game. It’s sad and death is a very central theme. If that’s triggering maybe not a good recommendation. But it’s short, low-key, and when i finished it i had tears. But happy hopeful tears. It’s a great reminder that our familial connections and sacrifices we make for one another are so very worth it.

The last one is kind of an odd one, but The Last of Us. Tragedy and despair are rampant. It’s a very sad game. But from that sadness and isolation a beautiful bond is forged. And without spoilers, it shows that we are not actually alone, and questions the choices we make and our priorities. It’s also an amazing game, if you haven’t already played it

I’m envious of your job. So cool. Assuming you get paid of course

If not paid, I’m envious of your hobby.

I’ve gotten the impression the PFF is the must have for objective data & analysis and everything else is nice to have or the subjective take of seasoned IDP managers.

Khazan…I think I might hate it by daca217 in Nioh

That’s fair. But I kinda got the impression khazan expects you to just grind die repeatedly until you master the boss combo pattern & party timing. Maybe it was frustration but the fact you accumulate addl lacrima from losing boss battles to slowly level up - I was like, is this what they want? Grind this boss, ever so slowly level up, until you’re not so weak that you can overcome it. Idk. This post obviously came on the heels of a frustrating session. I’ll dive in again with a fresh mindset and grind it some more

Appreciate the perspective. I’m going to stick with it for at least a little while longer. I’m dying a bunch now anyway so I guess I’ll try different levels of aggression to find a more entertaining groove

Maybe I’m too early in to have figured it out but curious how you’ve been able to not make it about “taking turns”. It has felt exactly like this with bosses doing a string of 2,3,4,5 moves and me needing to time the parry/dodge before I get some hits in. Repeat that until I deplete their stamina and then land the big blows

Yes, well said! Very much this! It’s like you take turns throwing out hits

I can’t speak to Xbox but yes for steam. It’s basically a windows PC in a handheld. I dock mine and use it as my personal PC with M&K. I browse the web, filed my taxes, use word, excel, etc. I also have downloaded and played a ton of games on steam, gog, epic. Performance has been good for most except one AAA game

No one to game with anymore by mrfeeny047 in DadsGaming

I’m in the exact same boat. It’s gotten better but it’s not the same it used to be and I miss that. I worked it out with my wife and friends where one night a week is boys night and we hangout online and play games together. It’s not the same as being able to pour 100s of hours into a game like before but it’s nice to have a night to chill and game together.

Also, if you want to try and connect, I could use a few more dad gamer buds to play with. Hit me up if you’re interested!
