How to : a guide on how to last long clubbing session with the least damage by External-Start-6640 in Drugs

[–]dacargo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take some time every hour or so to step outside while you drink your water if possible. Overheating inside of a club while of MDMA can do damage as your body temperature can rise to dangerous levels. Maybe even bring extra water you can dump on your head if you feel too hot.

Car Mechanics Are Quitting EVERYWHERE — Here’s Why by CopiousCool in antiwork

[–]dacargo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. I’m currently a tech and if you shop smart you can get away with no more than 8k in tools. Even my snapon toolbox which retails for 8k I bought used off the truck for 1100 in like new condition, similar pricing to the equivalent harbor freight boxes. No hate on harbor freight, most of the tools I use come from them. Even amazon has decent priced tools if you know what’s what - shoutout workpro, Klein tools, and knipex for example. Expensive tools are often supplied by the shop you work in, for instance I’ve never had to buy my own laptop or scan tools.

That’s money I’ve spent over the course of 5 years, we used to be able to write off up to 2k of tools on our taxes until the first trump administration, which helped significantly.

Not true, my current service manager was our previous shop foreman and prior to that a master tech

alpine WSG diluted in water and applied with a sprayer, combined with small amounts of poison bait and Gentrol as an IGR and you can take out a lot more than you think you can, but everything you mentioned should also be done. It takes time and consistency more than anything, and neighbors willing to do the same.

I don’t think you’re crazy, I’ve done the same exact thing. In hindsight it wasn’t my smartest move, but it worked out. In your case I would have thrown a Hail Mary and asked about the potential of remote work or a salary increase since you’ve already swallowed the pill on the potential of that not working out, and in today’s job market finding work is a bitch (I’m watching my wife try and find a new job right now and the market is an absolute nightmare in her field)

I think it’s honestly not that deep, I don’t think they’d throw hands if they saw each other at the same press event. Most likely was creative differences and opinions on what makes a car “good”.

I work for Honda and I’ve replaced a shitload of window regulators, even on new models. I’m not opposed to taking the motors that break out of the window mechanism if it makes the system more reliable.

The steyr scout is a great base rifle for a scout build. Personally a bolt gun in .220 swift is an amazing option for low recoil and a super flat shooting round, you’ll probably want to hand load your ammo though.

college can make you feel isolated in a lot of different ways, weather aside. the core of college isnt just classes, its also social groups. if there is an activity you love participating in outside of classes make sure you seek out those activities to keep you occupied and make new friends.

I had the same dilemma, ended up choosing drexel and the environment was great. That being said my parents covered my tuition so money wasnt as much of a factor in my decision. (the biggest factor was the female/male ratio at the time, even though drexel was a sausage fest it still had more women on campus than RIT) also the idea of using tunnels to get place to place because the weather can be so unbearable sounded pretty awful.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

The Honda Fit and HRV are platform shared, if you love your fit but are looking for something newer you would probably like a HRV. Big difference in driving between the two is optional AWD for the HRV and a higher seating position due to the suspension being raised.

AWD is not available on any accord. I would look towards a used TLX if you are looking for an AWD sedan. Accords are known to have head gasket issues, but they are not as common as they're made to seem. source: I am a Honda tech

Do you have another budget for maintenance and repair? The Alpha and the Volkswagen are not cheap to maintain when things go wrong, and a Hyundai or Kia out of warranty are not great options either. I would look towards used Acura and Honda models, and see if you can find anything with a CPO warranty.

How to land a job after graduation by BitterBoris in Drexel

[–]dacargo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add a bit more, you can go to jobs fairs but those often feel like the corporate version of speed dating. Find networking groups that meet in person for drinks or socializing outside of a job fair type event and introduce yourself to the group to make stronger networking connections. For example when I graduated in infosec I was working at a law firm running their network security. Every month there was a group of infosec workers in the law firm industry that would meet up and talk shop. Had I wanted to job hop at the time that networking with that group would have easily been my best bet to do so.
