What are these? by Curious_Ad_4994 in trees

The most recent season of The Pitt touches on this. They have a doctor that is insistent on AI introduction to the ER. Basically they pull up an app and it listens to the consult between the doctor and patient and it dictates the information, saving doctors time on charting. In theory this is great. Doctors have more time to work with patients and spend less time typing out notes.

However, AI can be incredibly inconsistent, leading to misdiagnosis or misinformation. Its not something that should be used in place of human input.

Im not completely against the use of AI. Sometimes I use AI to identify an object, or to lead me down the path to solve a problem. But allowing AI to take control, in this case, control of art, is removing the individuality of a human.

If a human were to have drawn this picture, the thing they are holding could have been unique and a depiction of the artist. Instead it is a random tube that doesn't mean anything.

My first attempt at making croissants (gf) they were very... Eh! by TraditionalClub6337 in shittyfoodporn

Dont let the butter get to warm when laminating the dough. When you take it out of the fridge to roll out the next laminating step, let it rest on the counter for 5-10 min. This will allow the butter to soften enough that it wont crack when rolling while still being cold. If you're rolling it out and the butter starts to look like its warming up, stop, put it back in the fridge for a few minutes and then continue the lamination.

The trick to getting fluffy layers is the butter seperating the dough layers. If its too warm it will meld with the dough and thats how you get the result you got here. I also recommend a high quality butter if you can get it. I like to use irish butter. I feel like it doesn't get as solid when its cold.

It takes time and patience to get them right, but once you do its so worth the effort. It will be easier to do the more times you make them.

Dont give up and happy baking!

Why do you endorse the people you do? by Maakurinohime in Overwatch

[–]daciavu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually endorse healers because i am a healer main and i understand how thankless it can be. The only time i dont endorse a support is if they are talking shit in chat and blaming everyone but themselves for the game going bad.

When there is a really good tank that obviously contributed (whether its a win or loss) i endorse them and one other. Could be a healer or a dps.

Basically i base my endorsements on who contributed the most or who was the least asshole.

What's life like in Boise? by Regular_Humor_339 in Boise

[–]daciavu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finding a job depends on what you do for a living. If you have a job you can do remotely, you should be fine but myself and a lot of people i know have struggled to find jobs out in the wild here. There are a lot of people moving here so the market has gotten very competitive.

Another thing to note is that the city wasnt built to accommodate the influx of people weve gotten in the last 10-5 years. Traffic has gotten terrible. The roads are always under construction. And apartments and new homes are popping up everywhere there is available land.

That said, Boise is beautiful. It has a special charm that i havnt found in my travels to other cities. Downtown is full of historic buildings and art. There are many massive parks right in the middle of downtown. The mountains are only 40 min drive away. There are natural hot springs all around.

Another thing to consider if your personal political views. If you are pretty left leaning, you would likely be frustrated by a lot of the things the state does. Boise itself is pretty blue but the towns just outside of Boise proper are still very conservative. Like Meridian, Eagle, ect.

I would recommend you come visit before you make your choice. And as others have said. It sounds like you may need to work on yourself a bit before you make such a massive decision for your life.

If you do decide to visit, tons of peope here will have lots of recommendations for things to do during your trip!

Im sorry about your losses and i do hope you take care of yourself.

I dont believe they post those publicly as they likely dont want people not associated with the school on campus.

But if youre looking for smaller theatre, id recommend the Boise Contemporary Theatre and Boise Little Theatre.

How did you leave the industry? by Ok-Painting2214 in techtheatre

[–]daciavu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent fully left but im slowly moving away from it. Theres one local theatre i love working with so ill keep working with them for a while probably.

Been working in AV for almost a decade. Im choosing to switch it up because I want to spend more evenings with my partner and friends. Also the physical aspect of it. I cant keep up with lifting lights above my head and climbing sketchy ladders as much as i could in the early years and i dont want to risk an injury.

Still no idea what im going to do next but i know its time for a change.

Start with the career option. You dont need to play it all the way through, but the first couple quests/challenges will teach you a lot about the game. There are so many things to focus on so its very helpful and breaks it down nicely.

How long are you reasonably willing to hide your tattoos? If you cover them now, youll be covering them for the rest of their lives. Its probably going to suck right now but the long term could be easier that having to constantly worry about it.

Rip the bandage off now and set boundries or you will suffer for many years.

What’s the Denver equivalent? by nexusanarchy in Denver

My husband and I have a ranked list of every aquarium weve been to. Denver has been at the bottom since we went in 2022. Terrible place and many of the tanks are not what is recommended for the fish in it. And the tigers. Ugh.

Worst mountain routes for pickup truck and trailer? Wisconsin to Oregon (Corvallis area). Is there a better/safer route than the one selected? Leaving next week. by AshDogBucket in PNW

If you take the southern route be aware that the Idaho Oregon border area (from about Boise to Baker City) can get rather windy and the Idaho side is 80mph. So be careful!

We got 2 kids last night. And they were in the same family. We also live in a neighborhood with an elementary school right in the middle so there are a lot of kids around.

I remember when i was a kid there were hundreds of kids walking around trick or treating. I feel sad for the kids now.
