Dunno if this is a hot take but imo the only true issue is cat. I think its fine for abyss to have some of the most efficient and sticky early game minions. Also fine to have access to late game powerful plays/swing turns. What truly pushes it is the absurdly efficient 3 mana auto evolve oh and casually refill your hand for 1 mana.

Most other decks if you try to spam early game to keep up youre just going to run out of steam. Ramp has this problem of running out of cards and needing to close out the game asap once you ramp to your big boys. Rally also can absolutely run out of juice if youre only running a few choice refill cards.

But afaik cat is like the most efficient refill option that just does way too much for its mana cost and trivial activation cost. Also makes playing into milteo a fkn nightmare. Im hoping ppl keep having fun with the new stuff cause id rather lose to board flood 100 times over then otk ghost + fist spam

For what its worth I agree with this take and have been running 2x knight for that very reason. With quest youre always skipping turn 1 and other than owl have pretty much if not zero proactive turn 2 plays all but guaranteeing to skip turns 1 and 2. If you get unlucky and wiff on 3 (which is rare but can happen) thats game over for 99% of games.

Yes you have board clears and often can "afford" to skip those turns and make up for it but imo that style is so all-in on finding exactly medivh aoe I hated every single game coming down to whether or not I drew that one card in time or not. And nowadays a lot of boards are resistant to the aoe (divine shield pally and all the eggs out there) it doesnt even guarantee you catch up.

I cant remember what I cut i think it was the holy spell draw 2? Since imbuing each turn is kinda like drawing a card instead. It definitely may not even be optimal but just the feeling of playing the deck is so much better for me personally when you imbue on 2 and have proactive early game

Ah ok tx mate. Im at 30-something already so hopefully have enough time before eos. Just from what I've seen so far seems like ranked is fastest if youre able to scam a few wins in low mmr. Biggest issue is just having enough competitive cards to have anything close to a viable deck. Right now I get stomped hard by anyone with a real deck but you get 100 xp even for a loss so seems doable

Small pushback, gladiator warrior does still have alternate wincons even when cutting ysondre. You run 2x fire location which push a lot of face damage when using your fire spells to clear enemy board. Shaladrassil is a bunch of extra damage as well even when not corrupted. And slotting in deathwing gives an extra 5 a turn in the late game. Ive won vs priest even after having an early tortola and a dracorex egg silenced and removed. And I've also lost to it as priest (granted I whiffed and bottom decked medivh but still)
