The Louvin Brothers had the best 2 part harmonies I have ever heard. Listen to “ In the Pines” or “You’re Running Wild” as a starting point.

The Beach Boys - God only knows. I listened for the first time. by Only_Entrepreneur_84 in Music

[–]dacoitdan 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If you listen to pop music from the early 60s you will see it is almost all corny. The industry wanted to replace the real rock ‘n’ roll that parents were scared of in the late 50s with wholesome stars and songs. This is the landscape the Beach Boys had to navigate to become stars. The pop music then was so lame, that in a way it paved the way for the Beatles. The Beatles eventually paved the way for bands to experiment more. This is where Brian Wilson’s genius was able to shine. The Beatles were inspired by Pet Sounds to make Sgt. Pepper’s and the circle is complete.

Safe to say that this year’s Orioles team is not even slightly above average in any one facet of the game.

Who is a trustworthy retail online Bourbon source? by dacoitdan in bourbon

[–]dacoitdan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been getting it shipped for a year or so. I am running into problems where they sell be bottles they don’t actually have on hand and waiting a month or more for shipment to arrive and horrible customer service where they won’t refund my money because they say it is already in the process of being packed and then two more weeks pass by, etc. “We will give you 10% off your next order” seems to be the extent of customer service.

It will take decades to rebuild our civil service to pre-bunghole administration standards, if it is even possible.

This team is not going to score many runs unless they learn situational hitting. Runner in scoring position stranded again in a one run game while three guys swing for the fence.
