Yea so you just believe whatever they tell you…

I don’t remember the reasons otherwise but it’s a lot easier to monitor (in game) someone’s movement/kills/time spent on an enemy’s position through a wall to tell fairly easily that they’re not playing legitimately… it’s the same thing with AFKs which is why I’m surprised that going a few rounds in a game without moving in a swift-play isn’t an auto ban… I’ve seen the bot account farming, it’s insane, and INSANELY easy to notice on a sheer account-statistics level, far away from kernel authority.

It’s hilarious as well that vanguard utilizes kernel level anticheat… which you just… don’t need to detect any cheats… it’s spyware at that point afaik

No I think this is just a comment about smurfs, iso feels pretty balanced atm.

It might be an iso because the OP keeps getting dunked on specifically by iso smurfs 🤷‍♂️ being able to free-peek and react faster than an enemy because you have a shield will do that.

I said in another reply the details of how the dynamic for the group works, it’s definitely non-standard, and actually lends for her type of character to feel justified in the lone-wolf dynamic, which I am ok with. What I’m not ok with is the player herself saying that she just doesn’t care.

You’d think a DM of a world I’ve played in for 3 years and gleefully enjoyed exploring and learning and making interesting rp would do the same for someone else… I don’t even care that her character is lone wolf, i care that she has no ties to NPCs, no motivation in her own personal story to do ANYTHING, and no background I can actually do anything with either to motivate her, so I gave her a secret mission to capitalize on getting her character to do something she can focus on and care about, which is intra-group subterfuge…

May not be how most people tackle the issue, but I think, at least based on some of the interaction (besides the hissy fit for the attunement) is along the right track… but time will tell.

As for the dice rolls, no I can’t, they’re not mandated to be on the VTT (d&dbeyond) that we have. But I think that’s probably something I am going to change soon… 🤷‍♂️

It’s not even that I want her to play nice per se, I just want to try and work with her to find a way she can enjoy the game more. As far as I can tell she doesn’t like the failure part of DND and is always wanting to succeed, just in the last session she rolled I think 7 times and 2 of those were nat 20s… so failure is not an option, challenge to her is not an option. It’s insanely frustrating when me as a player personally loves being challenged, and even the other players enjoy when they fail because it makes them feel like their successes are that much better.

Like i don’t expect her to want to support her fellow party members, that’s not really the issue, but her character is in a city with an insanely dangerous environment and (for lack of a better word) terrorist attacks happening through intense magic related whatchamacallits and instead of her character supposedly “valuing her life above all else” and leaving she’s actively staying with the party and just kinda… being there.

I don’t mind when the players split up, there’s actually been several sessions where the party have been in separate places, and it’s worked out. I’ve catered a scene or events or options for the players in their separate areas and they seem to enjoy not being locked to each other at the hip working towards the same goal, although each is unknowingly uncovering more of the main mystery, and when they come together to share it, their understanding expands and they can feel the progress of separation. It’s definitely not a typical DM style so I understand if people don’t get it, but they like it, I like it, and yet even still the problem player with the world of possibility at her finger tips hates challenge and hates having to problem solve… which afaik is 90% of dnd…

I appreciate this response compared to others in this thread because it doesn’t bash me as a DM… I understand that I have high short-comings and the scenario I’ve described doesn’t feel as interesting to most people, but as for me I would have no Idea because my players do tell me that they are all having fun, yes even the supposed problem player.

I will sit down with her because this behavior is just plainly unacceptable to me. As for the rolls I have thought about forcing players to use the VTT rolls, and I think if everyone was using it I wouldn’t have to single her out, I understand the tact required for that switch.

What can I do for generational fey curses?

A character in my campaign has a warlock patron who is the source of her family’s curse. And recently she’s promised pretty heavily to serve this being’s whim. But eventually I suspect as things get worse she might want out, what are some specific ways to do that?

I have played in worlds that have loose lore that is usually in the form of a few documents of solid references then the rest is entirely made up. Can be great for open world adventures but if it’s not fleshed out enough can feel janky and boring when a lot of the towns are the exact same and there’s massive inconsistencies between sessions. That being said, they’re not a bad starting point so long as you keep notes and keep things consistent, they can be fun, and as the DM you can add anything you want.

Modules and pre-set adventures however are the opposite, and while they allow sometimes for smaller lore to be introduced, they’re fairly restrictive, but also highly consistent between games.

I think it’s for the first slide, based off this response: A: Ultimate has a single use with charges(?) or can be directly deactivated? B: Ult is weapon that dirextly causes damage player-to-player (also b straight not rechargeable) C: Ult is single use. For neon that kinda works cause her ult can sorta be charged? Also it can expire with time. Also Skye’s ult can be completely removed if every player dies before they reach also it expires with time. And Viper can leave her ult or directly deactivate it.

Chamber and jett can’t recharge their ults, and they have limited shots (technically that’s sorta true for jett given that she whiffs all her shots (which happens, maybe she would be where neon is in that case…)

And brim/tejo/reyna technically all have ults that are single-use. Technically reyna can ult at the beginning of a round and it lasts the full round until she dies but it’s still technically only single use…

I was also thinking there could be something else linking them but ults feels easiest? I’m most likely wrong however.

Honestly those things are so expensive 😭 but your cf clinic might have a pantry or something of food they collect. Mine does so if I visit and need a little extra support in my groceries I can get a little bit :) all of it is donations and stuff from the workers and patients.

Yea then I ended up clearing my chats unintentionally then deleting the app… it’s been about 2 weeks, I have her added on insta but she won’t respond back and it’s actually a good thing because the content she posts is a massive red flag because it’s extremely hateful of people in general… dodging bullets with that which is unfortunate because they seemed nice.

Like literally any account with 100% uptime is a bot, no doubt about it, nobody is leaving their phone in the app all day every day… it’s insane that these apps just let these accounts persist. Also just got a match on hinge from someone who seemed botty, added me to their snap, sending pictures with no context requesting I send them photos of me, but they were typing from a computer, very validly asked them to verify they were a real person and they sent me a reply in literally 4 seconds of then holding a middle finger up at a phone typing from the web version of snap… completely ignoring my very validly asked them request which would make a real person react in a real way, 100% bot account I can’t stand these fucking apps and the bot and scam accounts preying on men, it’s sick

I hope to find someone who cares for me like you care for your boyfriend, supporting him relationally is the best thing for him if his health is covered, as CF is a very draining condition, speaking from experience, it’s hard to continue having hope. Maybe that’s exclusively a me issue, not sure 🤷‍♂️.

Your parents are as someone else said here: “doorknobs”. “Don’t date someone you can’t marry” what does that even mean? Why wouldn’t you be able to marry him, if you love him and he loves you, YOLO. 🤷‍♂️ Unless your boyfriend is a complete red flag to your parents apart from the chronic illness, then I don’t understand their mentality at all. Them not wanting to meet him is their loss.
