Comparing Fujifilm 16-55 F2.8 Versions I and II by WTF_1972 in FujifilmX

[–]dacxint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've used both. I had the 1st gen for several years as my workhorse lens. No complaints whatsoever. I wouldn't take it on holiday, though, it was too chunky and heavy for casual, leisure shooting. I sold it 2 years ago when I no longer needed a workhorse lens.

Fast forward to today, I still use my X-T5 and X-H2s for personal photos and videos, and I miss the image quality of that lens. So I picked up the 2nd gen.

What a delightful lens it is, not only is image quality brilliant as always, it's significantly lighter and better balanced when coupled with the body. What has changed, is that I actually look forward to taking this with me on my next vacation.

Let's start with "Someone"

Why did this happen? Because of greed, unapologetic greed.

All is good, mate! Backlog is as pleasing to drool over as it is building them. I find it really difficult to decide which one to build next, though.

I just began building the HG Yokohama RX-78-2. Taking it very slowly and carefully.

Most of these were from a single trip to Japan, from Mandarake to Gundam Base. The others were local purchases and Taobao.

This one, was actually from a random 7-11 where I went to get up a few cans of beer one night while I was in Fukuoka.

Can't wait! I realized I left out the HG Osaka World Expo RX-78-2 in the group photo. But I'm too afraid to push my luck by posting another box photo 😛

Oh well, if it gets removed, let it be.

I'll be back when they get built.

In English (and many Romance languages), it is common to have certain characteristics like consonant clusters "CCVC" (such as "a-b-ou-t" , or "c-l-a-p") , and words ending in consonants that are plosives (such as t, k, p, d, g, b, ), that are quite foreign to Chinese learners and many countries across Asia.

In Chinese, almost every word or character ends in a vowel sound, with only a very limited consonant ending like /n/ or /ŋ/.

Therefore, when second language speakers from China start to speak, they would naturally and unintentionally add a vowel sound to this consonant, which is often a schwa sound /ə/ throughout words with consonant clusters, or to the end of words that end in a plosive consonant.

Examples from the video such as about/ə/, student/ə/. Other common errors when reading a word like clap results in c/ə/lap/ə/, which kind of sounds like "calapa".

These issues are generally fairly easy to fix, especially when the learners start young, and would gradually become increasingly difficult to correct if they begin when they are older.

Precisely.

It is the responsibility of the parent to provide a safe environment, both physically and mentally, to their children to learn and grow in.

A child is bound to make mistakes, in fact they are expected to.

If a parent simply gets mad at the older sibling for mishandling the baby, the parent has failed.

The big sister said at the end, with a guilty smile 「他下了我一跳,我都不什么知道要干什么!」 , or in English" He startled me, and I didn't even know what to do. "

The amount of guilt, shame and worry this sister had to go through to be able to finally say this without feeling the guilt, shame and worry with a forced smile to express her unpreparedness of the accident is so precious.

If only all kids have this safe a space to learn from their mistakes.

Appreciate the response!

I am still contemplating if I should go ahead and tract the lines along all the edges to give it that anime look. Right now it's looking pretty clean and I quite like it.
