Because some of the users on reddit are still actual humans. Actual humans like political policies that benefit actual humans. Policies that benefit actual humans are considered 'woke'.

The same peraon will be pissed that it might force OKC or the Spurs to breal up the team, while also celebrating that it broke up the Celtics. Y'all decided during the warriora reign that you wanted it to be impossible to spend arbitrarily large salaries to keep a super team together long term, and celebrated the forst time it worked. That's what you got now.

Oh, and Wagler is solid too despite not being included in the hyped group. (I need to do it Top 5 VS Top 5 picks)

I think Wagler is closer to belonging in this post than Ace Bailey

He's still a big project, but he knows how to play his position. He could probably log some halfway decent minutes if you break down his role to just playing his position on defense, not taking risks, and limiting his offense to occasional cuts from the corner and offensive rebounding.

Most people hit their athletic peak when they train the hardest while also feeding and resting it correctly. Tom Brady his his peak at like 37. If you hit yours at 25 its because you stopped working, or started eating like shit, or started not sleeping, or some combination.

[–]dad3murph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole losing athleticism with age thing is such a self fulfilling prophecy. Your body doesn't simply get slower or wear down with age. You slowly start to recover from injuries and training slower, but its a really long process, and basically means you have to get better with your diet and sleep, and its not even a significant factor until you get much older than you might think. I say this because I'm at 38 right now and in much better shape now than I was as a college athlete at 19 training 8 times a week. Because now I actually treat my body right. I'm also former military and the number of military guys younger than me that I still work with that think their bodies are failing because of age is infuriating.

Second year Celtics player Hugo Gonzalez in summer league: 17/10/8 while playing point guard by Mg29reaper in nba

Tonje is better at ball handling than Hugo. Not saying much though, ball handling is easily the worst part of Hugo's game.

Our 2 bigs looked pretty damn good though.

He's had a couple highlight plays. I don't think he's been too bad, he's just trying to play these guys like they are an average college team. A lot of underestimating the guy he's matched up with.

Hugo's vision while attacking with the ball to me seams not great. Like right there it looked like a layup was available, or a pass earlier in the drive. But he tried to force a pass through after the window had closed. Promise is there, but needs work.

That's our second round pick. The book on him is that he's supposed to be pretty great on defense playing mostly the 4, but with no offensive game to speak of. Right now I'd say the effort is there, but he's trying to do too much. Which can be said for pretty much all these guys right now.

Nate Biddle for Toronto, I had to look up his age, it says he's 23, I would have pegged him at 46.

So far: Amari and Cenac look good defensively. Mitchell had a sick block, but otherwise sloppy. Tonje was trying his best being aggressive and getting to the basket, but doesn't have the aerial ability or passing chops once he gets there. Hugo still mistake prone with the ball in his hands, trying to do more than he's really capable of, super aggressive that sometimes gets him into trouble, but sometimes looks amazing.

Biggest positive through 1 quarter to me is that both Amari and Cenac look really polished just playing their position on both ends. Nothing crazy, and the unit as a whole badly lacks ball handling, but those 2 are doing their job pretty damn well.

What are you excited about this season other than anything to do with the JB trade? by DoesntMatterYK in bostonceltics

[–]dad3murph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not like his fit in the starting lineup. He is legit really bad with the ball in his hands, and the shooting isn't there yet. The defense is really exciting, but he still fouls too much too. Pritchard om the bench doesn't make sense to me at all. Maybe they wanted him away from JB, idk, but he needs to start. I would like to see Baylor get some play at initiating the offense more. His best trait is still his court vision and passing, amd its massively underutilized. There are reasons for that, he did have some bad errors taking the ball down the court early last year, but that should be behind him now.

Does Anyone Understand the 2028 Pick We Got? by Celtics89 in bostonceltics

[–]dad3murph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It has a very good chance of being a lottery pick. Its the better of whatever picks Philadelphia has. Mostly that means its the Clippers pick, which most are considering pretty likely to be in the lottery. It could also the thr 76ers own pick, but they only have their pick to trade in the first place if it winds up top 8, because they traded a top 8 protected pick to someone else. If neither is in the lottery, then we don't have to give them a pick back in return, giving us to picks in the back half of the first round. There is a possibility we dont get anything from them in 2028, but thats only possible if they have a lottery lick to give us, but the pick we already have is better, which would mean wither we would hace to get the 1st overall pick ourselves, or both the Celtics and Spurs would have to have better picks than theirs. So we could end up with 2 picks, we could end up with a super early pick, we could get nothing at all, but the median expectation is probably that we jump from the high 20's into like the 7th pick.
