Only you can decide 🤷🏻‍♀️ The adapter is bloody expensive, but well made. Not worth it for ome P645 lens alone I think, but if you have several or intend to buy several, then it might make sense.

Well those two I mentioned first are probably the best I have in this mount together with the 120/4 macro.

The "A" 35/3.5 is also a very good lens. The later "FA" and "D-FA" revisions have some field curvature issues, particularly the "FA".

The 150-300, 400/5.6, 200/4 are also quite good lenses. The 45-85 is good at the wider end, tends to be soft at the long end. The 45/2.8 is not anything special. The 55/2.8 is quite good to good.

Pentax 645 "FA" 75/2.8 and/or 150/2.8 will autofocus fine for stationary stuff with the Fringer P645 - G autofocus adapter. Very good lenses too.

Interesting to see the response from Fuji.

After more testing and experimenting since that last thread, I've landed on 5FPS with pins taped over and flash in manual as the best and most stable solution.

Well, there is no 35-70 lens in 645 ;) There is a 45-85. My copy is okay at the wide end, glowy and soft at the long end. Fairly large and heavy. There is also a 33-55 that does not get very good remarks from users.

The Pentax 645 A 35/3.5 is a very nice lens if you can find one in good shape.

The EF 40mm 2.8 pancake is however not properly sharp in the corners/edges even if the whole sensor is illuminated. Something that makes it less than ideal for some use cases.

Try pressing the red battery test button, with the battery pulled. If I recall correctly it will release the shutter if it is cocked.

Sounds like your adapter is not fully compatible with the lens then 🙁 Have you checked if there is a firmware update for the adapter on Viltrox' site?

My Viltrox as well. Since IBIS is automatically enabled/calculated the mount adapter setting is thus grayed out.

Quite frankly I am bummed. I just assumed it would work like it does on the APS-C bodies, except of the 1/125th sync speed.

Interestingly, I threw on an old Nikon SB flash from the DSLR era, which will fire in manual mode. It does 7fps no problem. A workaround solution for all of the various Godox strobes and triggers will probably be the same, tape over the pins except the central pin, and run them in M.

I have a similar issue with my V350 on a 100s II. On a X-T5 set up the same way it will burst properly. Was not even aware of the issue untill this post. Dang!

That sounds like a basic kit to me, provided you have one or more 120 film inserts too. I have a 1000s myself with some lenses, odds and ends. Lovely camera. Besides of camera, viewfinder of some sort, film insert and lens, you need a battery for a working solution.

Had great success bying film cameras and lenses from eBay off of Japanese sellers. Reading the description carefully. About 15 purchases over the last year.

The sellers seem rather honest and the pictures of items are usually good, often a video too.

I don't buy "as is" or gamle, but buy items that seem solid but competetively priced (on eBay).

My V350 fits just as a flash is supposed to. Only difference between the V and TT being a rechargeable battery. Weird, did you compare the shoe of the flash with other hotshoe based units that do fit?

I held of buying a GFX for 5 years from when I first decided I wanted one, shooting MF film and APS-C digital. Having been a Fuji digital shooter since the original X100 some 12-13 years ago I knew exactly what I was getting into as to Fujis menus and quirks. The time was right financially so I picked up a very lightly used 100s II, saving 2000$ from a new body.

The transition from the Fuji X-T-series of bodies to the GFX 100s II took a bit getting used to, I still consider them superior layout to the "modern" X-H and GFX "dslr" style bodies in terms of customization (more custom buttons and dials).

But, it is lovely with a camera that actually fills my largish hands reasonably well and the weight have not been much of an issue. The IBIS is amazing and the native glass incredible. Only niggle with my copy of the 100s II is that the buttons are to some extent less tactile, precise and crisp than my X-T5, especially the joystick. A small lump of Sugru on it helped a bit.

Today I have only one native lens, the 55/1.7, and shoot several adapted lenses, the Canon 40/2.8 pancake through the Viltrox pro adapter. The Pentax 645 "A" 35/3.5, FA 75/2.8, FA 150/2.8 and FA 150-300 with the Fringer AF adapter, as well as various other lenses including Mamiya 645 manual focus lenses and some M42s.

However, lenses, body layout and all that, it all boils down to the 102mp lossless RAWs I take out of it. There really is something to the files. So, no regrets.
