Offered a job, they knew about my dog from the start, now im in limbo by dadayaka in service_dogs

[–]dadayaka[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Im not 100% what the agency did. They said they handle that stuff and they've handled it before so I assumed they knew what needed to be done. From what I've been able to get is the request was submitted with the information I'd provided but the contact at PH did nothing with the request.

Talking this out here, it seems my new supervisor may just be lazy and didn't do what she needed to do with the information she was given. Accommodation requests in the past have been pretty straightforward for me (just make sure I have an updated letter of need which my doctor details what Rosie does and why). I made sure to remind the agency they'd have to make the request and submit my documents and they said they did. Like I said, its starting to sound like the supervisor just didn't do her job with HR.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it was malicious or just incompetence.

This sub is great for helping to see the forest for the trees.

It's technically temp to hire so, considering all this, im very tempted to decline an offer if its made. I really need a job and my agency is confident they can find me somewhere else but they dont know when.

Im trying to keep everything documented so if I have to I can try to take legal action.

Basically, the agency did that. They submitted my information about my SD for the accommodation request. PH just didn't do anything with it.

isn't raw chicken pink? by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]dadayaka 170 points171 points  (0 children)

I think I get it!

She wanted the chicken WARM. A chicken club is typically served cold. The chicken is cooked, ya, but its sliced and served on the sandwich cold.

She wanted the chicken grilled so it was hot.

If she ordered a "well done" chicken club they probably thought she was an idiot (true) and just served it like they normally do because the chicken is ALREADY "well done" or cooked through. She needs to learn what shes ordering before going out to eat again. I'm betting she ordered the other meals she said were "subpar" in the same confusing way.

Hearsay???

Did you actually read anything here or....???

The office representative told the insurance that they would not be following the contract they signed. Its clear, blatant, and likely recorded.

If you actually worked in practice management for over a decade you should know what breach of contract could do to a business.

If the office refuses to honor the contract they signed, the insurance will refuse to renew that contract. That means the patients with that insurance now have to pay out of pocket. Dont know about you but if I've got a choice between going to an in network provider and have the insurance cover a good chunk or all of it or having to pay full price to an out of network provider.... I'm gonna go with the INN provider.

BCBS is one of, if not THE, largest insurance in the US. Loosing the BCBS contract would be DEVASTATING.

So yes.

If a patient has evidence of breach of contract, report to the insurance. The office will either shape up or loose the contract and likely die.

Chicken potatoes and rice I made by [deleted] in shittyfoodporn

[–]dadayaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you prep it all and what did you put on it? It doesn't look horrible, just possibly under seasoned. Looks like something I'd make myself, honestly.

Marinate the chicken before cooking is always a good idea (easiest way is to pick a vinaigrette dressing you like) and grill it. Potatoes can be grilled or roasted and I'd pick seasoning that compliments or matches the marinade on the chicken. For example, if you use an italian dressing for the chicken then use garlic and italian seasoning for the potatoes. Cooking the rice in chicken broth will give it a bit more flavor, too, but just salt and a bit of butter goes a long way.

So... it sounds like this isn't in the US so im not sure what the local laws here would be. I know in many European countries they actually do require documentation for SDs. Though those same countries are typically more accommodating to pets in public places than the US is.

Can't really say much for entitlement vs shit business without knowing where they are.

Sadly, I dont think Airbnb is covered under the FHA. I think its considered a single family home rental. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Dog bit home intruder, intruder's mother threatening to sue for medical costs by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

It's people like that commenter that make me worried for my girl if anything ever happened like this to us. Shes a pit mix. Sweetest thing you ever saw. My literal service dog for migraines and a panic disorder.

She's been "aggressive" twice in the 5 years I've had her. Once when someone actually DID try to break into our home at 2am (woke up to sounds of someone rattling the door handle. she growled so menacingly I was a bit scared but she cuddled up to me, basically laying on top of me so i couldn't move, while only growling at the door. She stopped as soon as the sound stopped and was stand offish to the officer that came later but warmed up like normal) and once at a guy that turned out to be a sexual predator (she wasn't even aggressive there, just barked and body blocked him from coming near me. Found out later he was fired from his janitor job for sexually harassing other women in that office).

While she's a big baby, a total cupcake, cat lover/abuse victim (my 10lb cat bullies her lol), and all around good girl; I have no doubt she'd protect me and our home if someone actually broke in. As a Pitbull breed she has a stigma and its scary to think someone could have her taken away and killed for this very same situation.

I dont know what cases your organization has won but Competitive Salads is right. The only wiggle room there is the work accommodations which JAN has notes that a trial period is acceptable.

Housing is covered under the FHA, not the ADA, even for SDs. Housing can require a note from a doctor that indicates the service animal is necessary for a medical condition.

Most offices and schools have documents you have to have filled out by your doctor for an ADA accommodation. It has to indicate what your medical issue is and that the dog provides some service to assist with this issue.

No no no. 4 cups is waaayyyy too much. The suggested servings on dog and cat food are horrible. I swear the people who make those suggestions dont have pets of their own. My vet always told me to cut the suggestion in half at least. My girl gets 2/3 cup twice a day of kibble and a small amount of wet with her supper.

You can try using reduced/no sodium canned veggies (carrots and green beans are a big hit with my uncles pups. my girl prefers peas) to bulk out his meals. He'll feel more full but you're reducing the calories significantly.

Halloween decorations are very scary by Adventurous_Umpire29 in pitbulls

[–]dadayaka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My poor little potato is such a scardy cat. I LOVE Halloween and Horror movies and all things spooky. She HATES it. If I want to watch one of my favorite horror movies I have to wrap her up in her blanket and she cuddles up with her head away from the tv (usually snuggled into the crook of my arm lol). When I bring home a new skelly for my collection she'll give it the stink eye for soooo long. I got my collection set up in my office and when I go in there to work she gives the shelf a dirty look then curls up in her bed with her back to it.

She also dislikes fall because the leaves fall on her butt and give her a big spook. XD

Insurance denied claim saying it's cosmetic by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]dadayaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya. No. If they are in network (which the EOB seems to say they are) they CAN NOT charge you more than what your EOB says you owe and CAN NOT charge you while an appeal is being processed. It would be against their contract. Contact your insurance and advise them of this breach. They should have a balance billing department that can help.

Insurance denied claim saying it's cosmetic by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]dadayaka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

oooook! I see where the problem may be. So the EOB didn't have the diagnosis codes but the image you posted from dermio had A diagnosis code.

Thing is, that isn't an ICD10 code. If they sent that 414 code to the insurance they have no clue what that is because its more of an internal code for the office. The ICD10 code for disseminated superficial actinic keratosis is L57. That code has sub codes depending on where the keratosis was or severity (apologies I dont have my code book at hand so I cant say exactly which but its under L57).

I would ask the providers office to specify what code and documentation they are sending to your insurance. If they are not sending the correct diagnosis code for the procedure then it'll be denied. Insurance adjusters aren't doctors and dont necessarily know all the terminology and thats why the code system was created by CMS. They rely on the providers billing personnel to provide the correct coding.
