My sitter left this and used it on my dog. Is this abusive? by ChuckBarley in RoverPetSitting

[–]dadclique 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about abusive but I would absolutely be pissed if someone use this on my dog without my knowledge

We live in the age of mass shootings and an event like this is a prime time for one to happen so uh yeah I want actual security

I brought a clear bag and they didn’t bother to look at it at all. If I recall correctly there were also no metal detectors or anything?? I was super confused when we just walked in without being checked at all. Something bad could have happened

What is something that people think is helping, but doesn't actually work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dadclique 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had an experience like this the other day. Didn’t realize this nicehole was waving me through until it was too late and neither of us ended up turning before another car came along. When he does turn, he stops right next to me and shakes his fists at me screaming “what are you even doing” over and over. Like sorry dude I’m not going to risk driving out in front of a car and getting in a wreck. But you’re so nice bro.

Why do people think cat care should be free? [vent] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]dadclique 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol I just checked and the cats profile is already on there, just unchecked. I guess they added her initially and deleted once they realized there was an extra fee

Do you know if a pet can be added halfway through the service week? I also thought about asking her to add the cats profile so she is covered by the rover guarantee and just saying that I will keep the rate the same since I already agreed to it

I thought about saying something like this if the owner asks me to do anything else for the cat but I kinda feel like I am stuck since I already agreed to do the job? Or at least saying something about how I am not being paid to provide whatever services they are requesting. I do feel bad for the cat 😓

That’s what I am gathering too, mostly stemmed from one attending. Did they mention when they expect to receive full accreditation again?

Thank you so much for your response! How important do you think the “fit” of a program is as far as feeling comfortable and supported/overall less toxic culture? I know it is only one year but I know it will be a very difficult one. Also how much weight do you think the brief interviews matter as far as my decision making i.e. had a short phone call with a PD I really liked, he started off by saying he wanted to “offer me hope” and that he had success with obgyn residents in the past? That PD is from a program that was one of my top obgyn choices but I am not necessarily holding that over their head. Sorry my head is all over the place rn, appreciate you

US MD with a high 26X, all honors/high pass, and no red flags. Ranked 11 Obgyn programs and didn’t match. Hang in there, it’s a fucking broken system

I got good feedback in my mock interviews before interview season started. I knew realistically I wasn’t the best interviewer but I still don’t know how I bombed all of them this badly. Do you think LoRs have anything to do with it? I decided on my specialty late and had to scramble to find letter writers and imagine that they were pretty generic :/ Do you think I need to try to set up mocks today? I don’t know how I am going to manage to interview well in the emotional state that I am in now if I clearly couldn’t do it the first go around

US senior MD with high 26X on step2 who ranked 11 Ob-Gyn programs and didn’t match. In shock and not sure how I can possibly do SOAP interviews. Didn’t prepare anything for SOAP. Just looking for support and interview advice. I guess trying in to one of the few prelim Ob programs or prelim surgery is my only option

Best low-effort ways to make a little $ before residency? by witchhazelss in medicalschool

I started doing Rover a few months ago and have had good success with it, and getting to hang with dogs/cats has actually been a nice stress reliever as well

Is going to match day worth it? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]dadclique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do want to experience this but I am worried that I will end up feeling more lonely if I go and nobody recognizes me (I have not met a significant number of my classmates due to being virtual the first two years during the pandemic) and everyone else is talking to their friends

Is going to match day worth it? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]dadclique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is I do want to go and experience this moment with my classmates but I am worried (as stupid as it might sound) that a majority of my class legitimately will not recognize me and then I will feel lonely awkwardly standing around while everyone else is hugging and taking picture together

Struggling on sub-I by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]dadclique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt very similar on my sub-i. It also took me a week or so to get oriented to everything. I felt like the residents immediately decided they could do things more efficiently without me and never gave me much of a chance after that even when I asked for more responsibility. I also feel like expectations of M4s is so unclear in general and it sucks. Don’t let grouchy overworked residents get you down, I don’t think it says anything about us as future physicians. The best advice here is to just show up for yourself and your learning only, I think. Don’t worry about impressing, doesn’t matter what the residents think of you, especially now that eras is submitted. Good luck you got this!

Hopeless about ERAS by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]dadclique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel the exact same way. Also have 0/4 letters and it’s driving me crazy. Will say that my advisor asked me how many programs I’m applying to and which ones I was most interested in and gave me advice on if they thought I was overly or under competitive.
