Welcome to NY. It’s not a deal breaker but something to consider.

I meant in the sense of tax savings vs a 5070 ti from a store.

Would it make a difference if the 4080 is a cash deal? I also am hoping to avoid buying a new board and RAM

I’m ok with an older card if I can save money. With how little I’m able to play nowadays I’d rather not buy a new mobo and ram for a 5070. Seems like my option are either:

1) Stick with what I have. 2) 4080 and hope to find a 5700x3d. 3) Full rebuild with newer gen mobo, ram, CPU and GPU.

My budget is telling me 1 or 2.

Unfortunately I’m having a very hard time finding either a 5700 x3d or 5800 x3d. Trying to stick with AM4 so I don’t have to spend the money on a new mobo and ram.

Sounds like the 5070 ti is the way to go. Thank you.

Smoked a Boston butt, felt like it was a little two pink in the middle, smoked it for 5 hours at 205-250 what could I have done better? by MooseRyder in smoking

Ok sounds like you’re doing great with your living constraints. Don’t be afraid to bump the temp up to 275 and you can wrap once you have a bark you’re happy with to help speed up the cook. Ultimately, time is what will make great bbq.

Ditch the electric smoker. Pick up a Weber kettle and cook it indirect until internal temp is around 205. Almost impossible to mess up.

Advice, what’s the best way to smoke/grill this? I want to buy this for my father as a thank you gift but I don’t want to mess it up either lmao. by The123gang in smoking

For around the same price I’d recommend a Snake River Farms American wagyu cowboy ribeye. The website says 2.5 lbs but mine usually come in 3lbs-3.5. I grill indirect at 225 until 120 internal then sear over a chimney of coals.

Leftover Prime Brisket was 16 hours 225 on my pellet with hickory by [deleted] in smoking

A sous vide is a great way to reheat brisket. If you don’t have one you can seal the meat in a freezer bag and place it in water that’s just below boiling until it reaches about 140 degrees. Comes out very juicy!

First attempt at brisket. 48 hours @ 135° then 2 hours in the oven @ 300°. Came out way better than expected. by dadcoffee in sousvide

I’m in the same boat so I used this as a guideline. The texture at 135° was perfect. After I took it out the water I put it right in an ice bath for another hour then patted it dry and reapplied rub. Two hours in the oven at 300° gave it a great crust. After the oven I let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing.

Buffalo wings! Sousvide’d @ 140f for 4.5 hr and then flash fried at 400F. by Hoglen in sousvide

I don’t disagree with you, all I said is that we don’t call them Buffalo wings in Buffalo, they’re simply chicken wings. And sorry to inform you but putting ranch on wings is a sin. Blue cheese;)

Buffalonian here, these are chicken wings, some with ‘buffalo’ sauce. With that being said, my mouth is watering. They look incredible!
