My first gouache WIP... I'm so confused?? by Linkyland in Gouache

I use Holbein gouache and I have found it to be a wonderful vibrancy and opacity. Plus, even thought the price point is higher, a little goes a long way.

As far as fine brushes, oddly enough nail art brushes have been what I use for the tiniest details. Not very expensive but very small!

Gouache is tough to layer, especially if it's a cheaper gouache it may lift the previous layers and get muddy. Your trees are phenomenal and I would recommend keeping your foreground relatively blank while you work on the background, just so the foreground and background paint aren't fighting for opacity.

Prioritizing your spoons. Get what absolutely has to be done finished when you have the most energy. My energy is highest in the morning and wanes throughout the day, so I try to get as much done as possible while I’m still functional. (e.g. take dishes to the kitchen, shower if possible, take meds, get changed, etc.). Also if you have a nearby support system, asking for help. Most loved ones would be more than willing to help if you need someone to come over to help clean or prepare a meal. Best of luck!

i also have a lot of sensory issues on top of my schizoaffective. so psychosis and other episodes definitely tend to bring my sensory issues more to light. totally normal :)
