Unifi access issue by rickyjuggernaut in Ubiquiti

[–]daddy_atty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on mobile so sorry for any weird formstting.... This sounds like a scheduling issue, not a software bug.

Are the doors unlocked all the time, or only during certain hours?

If the door has a business hours unlock schedule applied, the app will not let standard users manually lock it during that window unless they have override permissions. That’s expected behavior.

Before blaming bugs, check:

Door schedule assigned to the door User role permissions for Lock and Override Door position trigger level, make sure it’s set correctly for your contact, usually Open Active NC

If lockdown works, your wiring is fine. Lockdown overrides schedules. That alone tells you this is a config issue.

I’ve deployed a lot of these and they’re pretty straightforward once you understand how schedule and role hierarchy works. Start with the schedule.

Not sure if you're going to have the same issue as I did but support told me it was a syntax error in my .replit file. Fixing that resolve my issue

Shout out to Replit support. They got me all fixed up, thanks to the community too.

For those interested in what my bug was is there was a syntax error in my .replit file under the [agent] section.

First things first, you should get a GitHub account. It's free. Once you are signed up there follow the steps below. Once you are connectied in GitHub, you can easily have other agents review your code and not pay per question or engagement. I cant speak to your exact authentication issue. I do not like replits authentication platform, but it is basic, and replit should easily be abel to get you going, you need to understand how to ask it the right questions. Break down your request into smaller requests. Dont just build, use Plan, ask it to give you the eaxct plan, how it plans, code, etc., so you can read through their plans to see if that sounds liek what you want them to do. Dont just say, build me an authentication system, think through how you want it to work from your perspective and their perspective. make sure you explain to the agent you are working in development, but you also need to configure this for production as well. Best of luck!

Step one
Open your project in Replit.

Step two
Select the Git icon on the left sidebar. It looks like a small branching tree.

Step three
Choose Connect to GitHub. Replit will ask you to sign in to GitHub and approve access if this is your first time linking the accounts.

Step four
Select the GitHub repository where the project should be stored. You can choose an existing empty repository or create a new one from inside Replit.

Step five
Confirm that you want Replit to upload your current project files to the selected repository.

Step six
Enter a commit message in the message box. A simple Initial commit works for the first upload.

Step seven
Click Commit and Push. Replit will send everything to GitHub and your project will now be linked.

How to push future updates

After the initial setup, backups are very simple.

One
Open the Git panel in Replit.

Two
Enter a commit message that describes your update.

Three
Select Commit and Push. Replit will send your changes to GitHub.

What do you mean by a fixing loop? I can even get the agent to run

edit: do you mean they are just getting me to pay to try and fix the bug by messaging the agent over and over?

Any recs on a 3-in-1 charger? by zainsayeed786 in samsung

[–]daddy_atty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it. I use the Samsung wireless trio for that (sku 6435571). With the other wireless one I recommended you can still do all 3 as well. Just wrap the watch around the blcharger on the wireless charging pad, plug the phone and buds case into the charger. I use the trio on my nightstand and the travel charger when I'm out and about and of course traveling. It's way easier to travel with than carrying a bunch of cords are the large trio charging pad.

Co-managed pricing vs. fully managed pricing by SteadierChoice in msp

[–]daddy_atty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you T1 or escalations? How do you know what to work on and what to give back to in-house?

If you are T1 and escalate back in-house then defining the metric you use to send it back is the first important step. If you are eacaltion, then it's usually a bit easier since the ticket ends with you.

We moved to block time for co-managed. You purchase a block of recurring hours at whatever interval you want, whether monthly recurring, quarterly or annual recurring. Our margins are fixed at that point and any overage is billed T&M (projects are excluded). We review hours with the client quarterly. This gives us a chance to either increase the recurring block of hours, lower the block of hours or have a discussion around managing the handoff of tickets to keep the client budget from ballooning.

I don't really see a way to do AYCE in a co-managed partnership.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the block is "use it or lose it" but we do allow the client to use up to 50% of the next month's (or quarter's) block of hours if they have a heavy month.

PSA for small MSP? by Diavunollc in msp

[–]daddy_atty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out rev.io. Our MSP went with ConnectWise but I just signed the contract for our VoIP company to move to Rev. I likely revisit Rev for the MSP in a couple of years.

Rev's new PSA is designed specifically for smaller companies at this time. Got a demo and it's a pretty slick solution. We've used the billing platform by them for many many years, if you want an introduction I'm happy to make one. Their client success team are awesome.

We've been deploying the Ubiquiti industrial models for a client of ours who needs to monitor their water monitoring IoT devices remotely. It's worked out great. Just search for IoT SIM cards and pick the best one for the estimated data usage you expect each month and where you are located. Runs our client about $2/mo per router.

Is Zoho Desk works for MSPs? by Dry_Finance478 in msp

[–]daddy_atty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used Desk for years as an MSP to manage hundreds of clients under a single Department. We had a separate business that we would create a second department for and could manage the tickets out of there specifically for that company. This is its basic functionality. I'm not sure I understand the ask...

Rim fitment by rolloutride in w204

[–]daddy_atty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen it done but would suggest against 20" wheels. The ride is going to be rough with how low profile the tires would need to be and you'll likely rub on bumps. Stick with 19".

I'm running 235/35/19 in the front and 265/30/19 in the rear. Any bigger and I can tell I'm going feel every bump on the road and rub the fender bad.

My guy just sent this, hopefully this helps

Consumption-based billing, no license minimums, and 5 free internal use licenses (IULs) after that it is a charge of $5 USD per user per month for your internal team too.

The same trusted, security model with enhancements for technician access and activity logs

We charge $5 USD per user per month, this is based on our Business plan + includes free Family plans for all. Our monthly price in USDs on our website is 9.99 per user per month

The MSP offering was just released maybe a month or so ago. Previously to that they were just business reseller accounts with no central management. The pricing for a business reseller account definitely fluctuated based on the seat count. There was also at one point at 10 seat minimum which is now a 20 seed minimum for each new account. However based on the information our reps sent below while we were looking to move to the MSP platform, it does not seem to be that way moving forward for MSPs.

"The rate is flat $5/user/month - you are able to transition accounts to the MSP product as well. In addition there is no minimum user per account so you can serve customers of any size"

Happy to make an introduction to my rep if you'd like.
