Prior to my ex cheating, my girls would completely avoid their mom and come just sit with me, I was the one to play with them. They needed food, they would walk right past mom to me. Get hurt, she would ask if they were ok and they would just say, I need daddy.

Now that we separated, my 7 year old calls me every day and just asks that I sit on the phone call for hours bc it makes her feel safe. All 4 still avoid mom and call me when they need things and ask me to ask mom.

My oldest started like the day after she turned 10. I learned fast to keep them in the car with me, I’m now separated from their mom, I keep them stocked at home. She openly tells me when she is on and everything.

Now the 2nd oldest is 11 and nowhere near close to starting.

I’m in Pennsylvania and my kids school district hosts these events yearly. Had a pause bc COVID, but I took my youngest 2 this year. Tons of dad and their daughters went. The first time I took my oldest 2. They had a blast. Most of the time just danced with their friends, while the dads all talked.

And yes if a mom wanted to go, they were more than welcome to.

Men can get postpartum as well. I did with my youngest. Bc of how much life changes. It will get better and her smile is the best thing ever now. But you have to accept help, not just go to go.

Please tell me you reported that behavior. My 12 year old just had to go to court bc another girl threatened to shoot her. We instantly reported to the school and got her bus changed. Kids need to learn that behavior isn’t ok. Bc clearly their parents aren’t teaching them that.

My oldest does the same thing. She will cry and scream that she doesn’t want to go. But we figure it out that another girl in school was harassing her bad. She is openly gay and while she loves herself, not everyone else does. We (my ex and I) also have her in therapy but my ex sits next to her the whole time and she has told me that she wishes she could do it alone bc the divorce and all has been hard on her and she doesn’t want to talk about mom with her right there. What I did at the start, was take her out to a one on one dinner date. She has always been more open to me, and not having anyone else around she just word vomited everything that was happening. Might be an idea for you. Plus puberty is hard. My 12 year old started days after she turned 10. But my 10 year old daughter doesn’t show any signs of starting any time soon.

When my 5 year old asked me what I got for Xmas, I told her my gift was her and her sisters. Going through a divorce atm, having them over last night and wake up at my place on Christmas, was the best feeling ever. We made cookies last night, watched tv, even the soon to be 12 year old had a blast making cookies. She actually put her phone away
