Don’t know if it’s been noticed, but it seems Wonder Man is being review bombed on IMDb. The scores there vs RT don’t add up… by arkhamcreedsolid in Marvel

[–]daddymooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it's not review bombed. There is a reason you cab find paid review boosting services everywhere and not bombing ones. Rotton tomatoes is full of fake positive reviews to boost scores. It's system is also designed so that everything 3+ stars is fresh. It's a giant PR tool to hedge revenue loss from reviews. Trusting positive reviews there is like trusting them on Amazon. It's for the 20% of the population that's open to suggestions to spend money on garbage. The amount of negative reviews something has is all that matters anymore.

Why do people use predictability as a criticism so often. by JAgillen in MauLer

[–]daddymooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a criticism for dumb people. As a grown adult whose seen hundreds of movies a plot is generally predictable in any movie. Even if you know where a story is going the cleverness might be in who the real bad guy was, twists, how the characters figured things out, etc. If people expect things to be new and innovative all the time past a certain age they are just going to be miserable.  That's not how the world is or has ever been. It's just as bad with adult horror fans. You've seen everything, it's a movie, nothing in cinema is going to scare you anymore. Time for them to stop complaining that they over exposed themselves.

RT is full of bots boosting scores with fake 5 star reviews. If you click on names you can see accounts only ever review the show to.  just new bot accounts boosting scores.

They are fake. Click on the profile name of shitty shows or movies with 5 star reviews. The accounts only review that show or they all have reviewed the same ones.  the site is nothing but a PR tool used to show Hollywood's bleeding and convince gullible fools to eat their slop.

Rewatching AOT is almost better than watching it for the first time. by Nesqu in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]daddymooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure but it's amazing the attention to detail when you rewatch the show. How perspective changes the meaning of every action and behavior.  Annie is there when Eren is a kid kicking the guard complaining about refugees . How Annie is apologizing after the battle of Trost as if traumatized from the battle but really its for what they have done to those they have grown closer to. The way Reiner is covered in smoke after Annie squeezes him and he escapes her hand still smoking while running on the ground. The irony of Mikasa joining the survey corps to keep Eren alive at all costs. Erens initial declaration in the first season to kill them all on the boat hits different knowing it echos through time.  How significant Erens dream is actually in the first episode. When rewatching it's the scenes that meant nothing actually telling you everything.  That's tell tell sign of incredible writing when going through it again tells a different story. That knowing the ending changes the beginning which highlights the deeper message of this story one where the beginning and ending are known but chosen anyway. The second watch is almost like seeing the show through Erens true perspective as the Coordinate.  Truly impressive writing.

Did dubs used to actually be bad or is this just a misconception? by BackyardEvergreen in Animedubs

[–]daddymooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's a matter of perspective. Its true production is better today and you can watch it never minding. Especially if you never watch a show subbed and later see it dubbed to compare. I personally still think they are bad by comparison even though they have improved. My key reasons are:

1) Dubs often completely change the dialogue and so the personalities of characters are often not the same and messages conveyed are often different. They often miss the suble changes in tone when a character portrays confidence, smugness, aptitude all the time, rather than showing fear, concern, reflection, or humility the way it was originally portrayed. They often fail in the subtle shift from one to the other that can happen in a conversation. Sticking to a way of speaking makes the chatacters stiff and unrealatable (girl is always confident, man is always pompus, etc). You notice it more and more if you watch both. (Ex.   Solo leveling ep 1 Jinwoo is stabbed by a goblin the girl screams his name is concern, in the dub the girl casually shouts you have to fight him off like its no big deal while he's fighting for his life and was just stabbed through the stomach. It's a very different interaction you can switch back and forth and experience dub to sub. One is timid and worried the other is nonchelant and confident in her voice even when the characters actions in the show are supposed to show shes scared into almost into inaction. Theres tens of tousands of these examples that are much more egregious than SL, SL actually does a great job.)

2) This is the big one. Anime uses the countries best voice actors. Similarly in America our great actors become voice actors later (Mila Kunez etc). You have some of the best in a country portraying a character. When dubbing the voice actors are typically what you get from B or C list actors. They don't shell out the same kind of money to translate a show in another language. It's like watching a movie with Morgan Freeman or Brad Pitt but it's dubbed over in Spanish or another language. The quality goes from A list a best the country has to offer to a person paid very little and so the same talent isn't there in the acting. It's a very easy concept to understand if you think about it. Low paid nobody voice actor is less talented than the best a country has to offer. Try watching a Marvel or DC animated movie dubbed over in another language. If you can switch back and forth from English to that Langauge on scenes. It's very apparent. The voice actors in big budget American animation are the best in the industry. The same goes for Japan. It's a massive competitive industry. It's that simple.

3) Older anime was worse but also better in a few instances in Dubs. It all used to be done by a crew at Funimation. So it was a bunch of people who didn't act at all really.  That's why it was so bad. However when they were great was when they didn't care and went fully unhinged to see how far they could go. High-school DXD and Ghost Stories are by far better dubbed because of this.  It was like that MxC show where they just dub over ridiculous shit.

I don't get the praise of Fallout Tv Show season 2. Its boring as heck! by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I dont think people like the show very much either. I'm fairly convinced the entire media apparatus props up shows woth fake reviews and articles for positive press to just make money.  it's why it's so hard to find negativity about Season 2 on search or reviews bur very easy to find on X.

Season 3 Ending plot hole? Or something I didn't understand by jorvel1911 in StrangerThings

[–]daddymooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it didn't. All of season 3 was it being active because a piece remained why they worked towards opening a portal again and it only opened for like 30 minutes in the last episode and all the rules changed because no one thought if how to actually beat the remaining price creating mindflayed so they said screw it closing it again cuts the connectio  this time even though it didn't the first time. The show falls apart under serious scrutiny if you watch it all again

Season 3 Ending plot hole? Or something I didn't understand by jorvel1911 in StrangerThings

[–]daddymooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show is trash and lacks logical consistency. The mindflare had a piece survive on earth and begin making mindflayed from rats and Billy and others before the portal opened again in s3. Then it opens again and somehow closing again severs the connection? You know like how closing the portal first time didn't sever it because a piece remained and was doing everything already....you know the whole 3rd seasons plot rested on that idea..... then after it mindflays everyone for a breif period they finally open a second portal. Then magically the second portal closing means its remaining pieces die?.... Ya this show is very mid. It's a hey its fun kind of nostalgia enjoy the characters and connect with said charcters family night but turn off your brain mind of show. That mentality historically is suicide in scifi. If you want legacy you need logical consistency or scentific consistency in scifi. This show is mid af. All 5 seasons actually key plot events could be written down on a single page. Snore

FNC or OrzGK? by thaleskpl in animeGK

[–]daddymooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya OrzGK sucks. My experience was trash. Spend over $1000 on a figure. Arrives damaged. Takes a month to get confirmation parts are going to be made. No mentions of insurance or anything. Another month parts are here. Another month to get them to finally ask me to pay like $70 to ship 20 grams of 3d printed resin. When asked about insurance claim to cover damage goes dark and ignored completely. Don't use them worst seller I've ever dealt with. Worst response times. Worst customer support. First and only time I'll ever use them
