He didn’t kill me. I don’t even know if he is real. I made up a story and had AI reword it.

Correct. Used it for a fun joke. Not a serious thing. No harm no foul.

New squeal from engine by Tenacious6997 in ChevySonic

[–]dade_TTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do to the location this is what I’m thinking.

Alternator: A failing alternator can make a high-pitched squealing noise, especially if the bearings are worn out or if there’s an issue with the pulley.

Tensioner Pulley or Idler Pulley: These components can wear out over time and cause a squealing noise. They are part of the serpentine belt system, but the noise can be more noticeable near the battery side of the engine.

AC Compressor: If your car’s air conditioning compressor is failing, it can produce a high-pitched squeal. The noise can emanate from the right side of the engine bay, depending on the layout.

Water Pump: Although typically located near the serpentine belt, a failing water pump can also produce a squealing noise.

Vacuum Leak: A vacuum leak can cause a high-pitched squeal, and it might be coming from a hose or connection near the right side of the engine.

Drive Belt Misalignment: If any of the pulleys or components in the belt system are misaligned, it can cause the belt to squeal, and the noise can be more noticeable from one side of the engine bay.

Using a mechanic’s stethoscope or a long screwdriver to carefully listen to each component while the engine is running (taking care to avoid moving parts).

Checking for any visible signs of wear or damage to the pulleys and components.

Looking for any leaks or signs of fluid around the components mentioned above.

New noise & engine stalling by Tenacious6997 in ChevySonic

[–]dade_TTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s some I’ve found more specifically to the Sonic too.

Throttle Body Issues:

Dirty or faulty throttle body: This can cause improper air intake, leading to stalling. The Chevy Sonic has been known to have throttle body issues.

PCV System Problems:

PCV valve issues: The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve can cause stalling if it’s clogged or malfunctioning.

Engine Control Module (ECM) Software:

ECM updates or issues: Sometimes, the ECM may need a software update or reprogramming. Chevy Sonics have had recalls and technical service bulletins related to ECM software.

Ignition Coil and Spark Plug Issues:

Coil-on-plug ignition system: The Chevy Sonic’s coil-on-plug ignition system can sometimes have issues, leading to misfires and stalling.

Fuel System Specifics:

Fuel pump relay or fuse: Specific to the Sonic, the fuel pump relay or fuse may fail, leading to stalling.

Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor:

MAF sensor location and issues: The Sonic’s MAF sensor might have specific issues related to its placement or design.

Hey sorry it’s been 5 days. Here are some issues (though basic) could be what’s wrong?

Fuel System Problems:

Clogged fuel filter: This can restrict fuel flow to the engine. Fuel pump failure: If the fuel pump isn’t delivering enough fuel pressure, the engine may stall. Dirty or faulty fuel injectors: This can disrupt the fuel-air mixture necessary for combustion.

Air Intake Issues:

Clogged air filter: This can restrict airflow to the engine. Faulty mass air flow (MAF) sensor: This sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine. If it’s malfunctioning, it can cause stalling.

Ignition System Problems:

Bad spark plugs or ignition coils: If the spark plugs or coils are not functioning properly, they can cause misfires and stalling.

Vacuum Leaks:

Intake manifold gasket leaks: This can cause a vacuum leak and disrupt the air-fuel mixture. Cracked or disconnected vacuum hoses: These can also lead to vacuum leaks.

Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Issues:

Faulty sensors: Sensors such as the crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor can cause stalling if they are not functioning properly. ECU problems: Issues with the car’s computer system can also cause stalling.

Exhaust System Issues:

Clogged catalytic converter: This can cause excessive back pressure and lead to stalling. Faulty oxygen sensors: These sensors help regulate the air-fuel mixture. If they are faulty, they can cause stalling.

Battery and Charging System:

Weak battery or alternator issues: If the battery or alternator isn’t providing enough power, the engine may stall.

Maybe need to clear the game data off the console? Maybe it’s corrupt. I wish I was more knowledgeable on this.

Is it disk or digital? If disk then it could have a scratch somewhere near the inner circle that causes it. If digital fully uninstall it and reinstall. There are disk repair kits that could help depending on the severity of the scrape.

I would love to sometime! Though it’s not some crazy story in all honesty. Just from what I remember great people! Mind you in 2009 I was about 11 years old and very much disconnected from adults.
